Nukedog is trying to be funny, and succeeding, by pretending the gay's are behind the conspiracy. But mostly he's just using it as an added throw in pejorative, in the sense that I am using it.

We need to get the anti-body testing ramped up, so we can find out how many people already had the virus, recovered and now have immunity to it. Until then, we are flying blind and the mortality rates are going to look way higher than they actually are. There is a new study out of Oxford that says it's possible up to half of the UK has already been infected, didn't notice, and have become immune already, and the mortality rate could actually be as low or lower than the seasonal flu, and the UK's herd immunity strategy that they originally employed, was the way to go, not "flattening the curve". If this Oxford study is even close to right, then even I'm being a total SIFCLF about Coronavirus, and Nukedog had this right from the beginning, fake and gay. My confirmation bias of course wants that study to be right, so I'm keeping that in mind, but like I said, until we seriously ramp up the anti-body testing, we won't know for sure, one way or the other.

Did Trudeau Fail His Country On Covid-19

I don't care whether you appreciate it or not, I'm calling a spade a spade, and I don't care whether the spade is butthurt about that. -

Yes and when someone provides proof that what you are sating is untrue, and you don't admit to your mistake and stop, you have Derangement Syndrome. Whether you have that for Trump or Trudeau makes little difference. It's not just those deliberately lying who are Deranged, it is those who are unintentionally lying as well but can't see it because their hatred prevents them from doing so. -

You can't be objective when you pretend like Trudeau doesn't ever do anything beneficial, even unintentionally. Don't snow the snowman. -

You are doing the same thing. If you think they are doing it on purpose and don't actually believe their own bullshit, I would suggest to you that is actually an extremely small minority of those with Trump Derangement Syndrome. Most are just misguided, not intentionally malevolent, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Good intentions on your part doesn't stop you from paving the road to hell anymore than it stops those with Trump Derangement Syndrome from doing the same. -

Some of them sure, but not everyone, most people around here who use the phrase do not use it like that, you just assume they do so you don't have to give their opinion's the consideration they deserve, which is a common symptom of Trump Derangement Syndrome, I might add. There are certainly far more posters around here with TDS than those who will defend Trump even if he spits in their faces, by several orders of magnitude. Lots of folks with Trudeau Derangement Syndrome around here as well, WestCanMan is far from the only one. -

I will site some examples in the future, when you bring them up and me pointing them out will simply make you double down in your Trudeau Derangement, the same as when I point it out to those with Trump Derangement Syndrome, they simply double down on their Trump Derangement. No argument, no matter how persuasive, will ever convince you otherwise, just as no argument, no matter how persuasive, will ever convince the Trump Haters otherwise. Y'all are too emotionally attached to your political position to let logic get in the way now, cognitive dissonance will simply take over to prevent y'all from seeing just how wrong you are. -

That is what people with Trump Derangement Syndrome say to those who defend Trump on pretty much anything, and this is also what people with Trudeau Derangement Syndrome say to to those who defend Trudeau on pretty much anything. No defense of a politician they are deranged against is allowed, even if the critique made against them is flat out retarded, they still often lash out in those scenarios as well. You are attempting to create a distinction without a difference. You thinking your hatred is more justified than the Trump Haters does not mean you are impartial and are judging Trudeau entirely objectively, anymore than it means the Trump Haters are being impartial and judging Trump entirely objectively. You behave towards Trudeau exactly the same way those with Trump Derangement Syndrome behave towards Trump. You'll never admit to having Trudeau Derangement Syndrome, the same way those with Trump Derangement Syndrome will never admit to having it either. The partisan blindness prevents these folks from seeing their own faults, but they lash out when they see others displaying those same faults in defense of someone they don't like. You stoop to their level, but it's okay when you do it, and not okay when they do it, distinction without a difference, cognitive dissonance is helluva drug. -

Places with a destroyed economy in a war tend not to do well, especially compared to economies that are far more intact, who knew? South Korea knows, and they would kick Canada's ass in a war too. It's like you always say, war is logistics, and completely shutting down the economy in a panic via government decree, isn't good for logistics. -

Even if your facts are right, that doesn't mean the deranged conclusions you draw from those facts are right. Same goes for the Trump Derangement Crowd. You are attempting to create a distinction without a difference, just because you think your hatred of Trudeau is more justified than their hatred of Trump doesn't mean you aren't deranged, the TDS crows also thinks their hatred of Trump is more justified than your hatred of Trudeau, that doesn't mean they aren't deranged though. -
Trump Vs Trudeau on Coronavirus

You can clamp down on close contact in places of business without shutting down the economy, lots of room for grey indeed, but not with Iceni Warrior apparently. -

Neither do those with Trump Derangement Syndrome for the most part, they simply unintentionally misrepresent facts thinking they are telling the truth while being incredulous that those who aren't deranged cannot see what they see. Even when you tell them this, it doesn't snap them out of it, they double down, because they still can't see the derangement, they think it's everyone else who is deranged, that's part of the derangement. Same applies to you with Trudeau. -

It's means you are unaware when you are lying about him, and think you are telling the truth, but you are just looking at reality through partisan blinders. You simply can't tell the difference when blinded by hate, you'll believe the worst about him, even when it isn't true, confirmation bias is a helluva drug. Same goes for Trump Derangement Syndrome crowd, it's the exact same thing, y'all just hate a different politician is all, but the derangement is plain as day. -
Trump Vs Trudeau on Coronavirus
Yzermandius19 replied to WestCanMan's topic in Canada / United States Relations
False dichotomy. There is a ton of middle ground between all or nothing. You simply see this problem as black and white, when there are many shades of grey that are far better alternatives than either extreme. -
Right but if the time it buys them isn't enough time to prepare properly for the next wave, then you get the worst of both worlds scenario. As of now it's looking like the time they will be able to buy will be nowhere near enough to raise the medical capacity enough to make the economic damage worth the squeeze, and the strategy will backfire bigly. I hope I'm wrong and it will make a big difference, but right now that also looks like wishful thinking woo woo, it seems like they are just stalling because they can't think of a better response while they are in a panic. A placeholder plan, hoping they can come up with a better plan down the road, so just kick the can down the road, likely consequences be damned.
-
Hence "Flattening The Curve", at least the way the idea is envisioned by the rubes, is nothing but wishful thinking woo woo, that will actually make the problem worse, despite the rubes thinking it actually makes them safer. Short term thinking backfiring in the long term, who knew?
-
Not only that, but they can't stay shutdown forever and when they are forced to open things back up, they will get the spike in cases they futiley tried to stop, on top of the economic damage, worst of both worlds. Italy is royally f*cking this up, it's as if they are trying to do as shitty of a job as they possibly can.
-
In that case, the economic shutdowns simply lengthens the amount of time that is the case for, they aren't reducing the number of cases, they are simply stretching it out to not overwhelm the system and failing to do so. Not great, Bob.

Trump Vs Trudeau on Coronavirus
Yzermandius19 replied to WestCanMan's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Slowing the infection rate via social distancing is a good thing, taking that too far and destroying the economy through overzealous government mandates to socially distance is not a good thing. The extra slowing of the infection rate through overzealous government mandates is simply not worth the squeeze, the infection rate is slowed enough without going that far and you don't have to destroy the economy to do it. Tunnel visioning on one aspect of fighting the virus to the detriment of all other effective strategies to fight the virus, can cause a net negative. -

Trump Vs Trudeau on Coronavirus
Yzermandius19 replied to WestCanMan's topic in Canada / United States Relations
You don't have to test everyone, just as many as it makes sense test given the amount of tests available. The more tests you have at your disposal the better this strategy works, but it doesn't mean it can't work better than shutting down the economy unless absolutely everyone can be tested, that simply does not follow. -

India overreacting does not obliterate the idea that lockdowns aren't the only solution, it just proves that India chooses to focus on ineffective or counter-productive solutions.
