  1. Stage 1 National Mobilization ; conscription as necessary call up the Primary Reserve activate the Supplementary Reserve
  2. whatever helps you sleep at night, bro it's pretty obvious that Trump got what he wanted while Canada did things it would never do otherwise one wonders what else Trump can force Canada to do, that Canada should be doing anyways Trump for Prime Minister, anyone ?
  3. its not so easy to do anyways you can't just militarize civilians like that they are unionized public employees they did not sign a contract of unlimited liability to defend the Crown unto death as necessary
  4. he sure put the fear of God into Canada it worked once, so he's going to keep doing it next up will be Canada's 2% GDP defence spending followed by renegotiating NAFTA Canada already calculates its military spending like that, RCMP, Coast Guard, etc it doesn't work tho, NATO doesn't buy it
  5. whatever prevents millions of working stiffs from losing their jobs ; I'll take it I'll even give Trudeau credit for getting it done
  6. Trump is well known for employing this negotiating strategy ; the Nixonian Madman theory but because he is, he has to keep upping the ante
  7. Trump still has to keep that 25% tariff threat hanging over Canadian politicians heads until there is some actual progress on rebuilding the Canadian military
  8. Canada ups the ante on border security Trump gives Canada the same deal as Mexico got
  9. Canada's deep seated historical fear & loathing of the American republic at the gates has incited Canadians into an hysterical reactionary response even tho most Canadians no longer consider themselves to be "British" Canada is none the less a Victorian society, Queen Victoria is Mother Canada for Americans, it's "remember the Alamo !" for Canadians, it's "remember Queenston Heights !" culture is destiny
  10. the military oath of allegiance is not to the Canadian public only to the Commander-in-Chief I, [name], do swear [or, for a solemn affirmation, solemnly affirm] that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles the Third, King of Canada, his heirs and successors according to law. So help me God.
  11. Canada's lack of national security contribution is hardly limited to the border look at what Washington is after ; Greenland & the Panama Canal this is all about preparations for a war with China so the third element therein is the Canadian Arctic although the Administration wants North American internal security ramped up as well right or wrong, they are clearly convinced that war with China is inevitable at some point if Canada is not on the team, then Canada is No Man's Land it was the same thing in the Cold War with the Soviets the Mobile Striking Force becomes the Defence of Canada Force becomes the Special Service Force that was all about the Arctic, with the Canadian Airborne Regiment as the tip of the spear
  12. this is not about trade Trump has declared a National Security State of Emergency he wants military forces deployed at scale soon as Mexico gave him troops deployed on the border ; Bingo
  13. it's a mistake to think that this is all about Trump Trump is simply amplifying the American National Security Consensus view of Canada many previous Administrations have asked nicely that didn't work so now Trump is demanding
  14. nobody is coming to save Canada ; it's not just America who views Canada as being the weak link Canada should not only offer to increase NATO spending to 2% immediately Canada should offer another 1% increase just for Arctic defence you don't need Greenland, you can base your forces at Goose Bay Labrador Canada will reconstitute the Cold War Mobile Striking Force for Rapid Deployment to the Arctic let's defend the Northwest Passage together, we will allow America Freedom of Navigation therein while denying China any access Just like AUKUS, sell us your nuclear submarines, we'll buy four SSN-774 Virginia class Canada will join the American Ballistic Missile Defence shield, AEGIS Ashore on Canadian soil etcetera
  15. America is being ruthless with Canada because Canada is the weak link in Fortress North America America is contesting the Arctic against China & Russia Canada is a burden rather than a boon therein in essence, since Canada won't defend the Arctic, America will have to take control of the situation same thing with Greenland
  16. the Realpolitik is that America no longer wishes to be the World Police America can no longer afford to carry that burden instead, America is making preparations to fight a war against China ruthlessly pursuing American national security interests therein as I have been predicting for years now ; Canada is caught in No Mans Land
  17. Canada has been quite predictable so far Trump knows exactly what to say & do to bait Canada into a kill zone
  18. Canada wanted to do that first; just a few weeks ago Canadian politicians were suggesting throwing Mexico under the bus Mexico beats Canada to the punch
  19. Mexico avoids the tariffs by agreeing to deploy their military to secure their side of the border Canada meanwhile does not have the troops to deploy so now this could be a 6% loss of GDP for Canada by economic warfare with the Global Hegemon that's worse than the 1981 recession in Canada, which was the worst recession since the Great Depression thus this would be the first catastrophic consequence of Canada having collapsed its own military, and since neither Mexico nor China is retaliating, Canada stands alone, making Canada's retaliation exponentially less effective
  20. the Mexicans offered to send their military to secure the border presto, Trump drops the tariffs on Mexico, gives them a month to get their troops in place Canada meanwhile ; will be tariffed into the worst recession since the Great Depression thanks, Justin Trudeau
  21. well, Canadians are taking it way more personally than Americans would for Americans, this is just business they might be put out by the supply chain being disrupted but Americans don't think it's America's job to employ Canadians other than those who live right on the border, Americans don't pay any mind to Canada I don't expect they're going to be protesting in the streets for Canada foreigners are abstract to Americans mostly I think American businesses will just start lobbying the Administration for exemptions from the tariffs
  22. I don't think so China could do way more damage than Mexico & Canada business is also not going to move from China to the USA, that's only gonna come from Mexico & Canada
  23. I think you're in the wishful thinking zone most people are not political it's like my wife refuses to leave Canada, she refuses to move to America she despises Trump but she's not boycotting nor anything like that the immigrants are not going to boycott, young people don't care, they are not giving up their iPhones cuz tariffs Canadians don't like Trump, but they are not giving up Costco & Walmart & MacDonald's en masse don't take this forum of evidence of anything, Normies don't act like this
  24. nobody is going to find other markets anytime soon if you had those options, you would be there already Canada has been talking about diversification for a hundred years, it never happens Canada is not going to make any major structural changes, business in Canada doesn't want that Canada is just going to try to wait Trump out, while suffering a recession on the scale of 1981-82
