  1. Mueller a fool and part of the swamp? Hell, he is investigating the swamp. Did you pay no attention at all to the sort of people Trump surrounded himself with? Take some advice from someone who has studied US politics for over forty years and do some proper research. If you are not going to do that then you deserve to be taken in by the charlatan in the White House. BTW I don't think the Democrats are going to have much of a problem getting Trump on something. Hell, he can't even say five sentences without telling at least one lie. As I have said before, if you actually think Trump is not guilty, then you should welcome this chance for him to prove his innocence? What exactly are you afraid of, other that the ugly fact that he might be guilty of everything he has been rumoured to have done?
  2. Actually you are wrong about historical immigration. Immigrants to Canada from Eastern Europe were so different that many Canadians did not even consider them to be White. In fact Ukrainian immigrants to the Prairies were referred to by the term "Jacks" as opposed by being part of the "White" mainstream culture. And your reference to impoverished, technologically, and socially backward pretty much fits immigrants from Southern and Eastern Europe. You appear to be confusing modern immigrants with refugees, some of whom might actually fit your description. In fact many immigrants are quite well-educated and generally seek high level education for their children; exactly the sort of people Canada needs. Immigrants are largely behind Canada's status as one of the best-educated countries https://www.thestar.com/news/immigration/2018/02/01/immigrants-are-largely-behind-canadas-status-as-one-of-the-best-educated-countries.html
  3. This looks like another attempt to discredit immigration. Of course there are immigrants who cause problems, that has always been the case. However, the history of nations with large immigrant populations such as Australia, Canada, and the United States clearly show that the benefits of immigration far outweigh the disadvantages. Not only that, but given the low birthrate of most European nations immigration is not only going to be desirable, it may be absolutely necessary.
  4. It appears that the source you have chosen is advertising literature that is contradicted by almost every recent climate study. How can it be getting colder when each of the last three decades has been warmer than the last? Even a casual study by any non-scientist reveals that climate change is real and affecting the Earth in a variety of ways. A simply example is that the USA has experienced five "Once in a century" hurricanes in the last two years. Another is the devastating fire that destroyed Paradise, California; a fire that occurred at a time of year that is considered the rainy season. Except that in 2018, the dry season extended into September and October, two months longer than normal. There are hundreds if not thousands of such examples occurring every year worldwide. They can't all be "once in a century" flukes.
  5. No, but it is interesting just how many of those indicted had close ties to Russian business. And then there is the fact that the meeting with Russian officials in Trump Tower was attended by Trump's son and his son-in-law. What is the chance that daddy was not told about the meeting? Here's the thing; when you go after the President of the United States, you better have lots of evidence. Mueller is taking his time, going after one Trump associate after another. Eventually he will either have enough to prove the president guilty or he will do what any proper Special Counsel would do and drop the case.
  6. Sorry, but if you think Mueller is a criminal then you live in Fantasyland. As for the various indictments I strongly suspect Trump's turn is coming. It is interesting to note that the Democrats have started to hire large number of constitutional lawyers. They are almost certainly going after Trump in the coming year. Mind you, if Trump is as innocent as you claim, then you should welcome this chance as it will give Trump a chance to clear his name.
  7. Taxes have long been used as a way to control behaviour. That is why so-called "sin taxes" like those on alcohol and tobacco are so high. If it is the goal of the government to encourage people to use less fuel then taxation is one method that is almost certainly going to be used.
  8. Mueller a criminal? I doubt that a special counsel who has already convicted several of Trump's associates and indicted dozens more can be found guilty of doing what he was hired to do. After all, the US is still somewhat democratic. And if you want shit - it is about to hit the fan for Donald and his friends. Trump is probably going to down as the most disgraced president in US history, even surpassing Richard Nixon.
  9. The carbon tax isn't really a new tax. Taxes on fuel have existed for decades; it is just a different name for the same thing. And it could be worse. Norway taxes internal combustion engines at up to 100%. That is not a new ideas. New Zealand brought in a similar tax in the 1970s taxing any car with an engine size over 1000 cc.
  10. Discussion of Obama is pure deflection. I am more interested in the 30 plus indictments of Trump's colleagues.
  11. I never said Trump was responsible for Latin America, just as Harper and Trudeau were not responsible for residential schools, but they did recognize that they had a moral obligation to accept responsibility for it on the part of Canada. Trump could do the same and he would be lauded for it, however, it is not in his nature to do what is right. I think you might want to look at how long the Israeli border is, that and the fact that the Israelis don't have a problem shooting anyone who tried to get over their fence (not wall). If you really want to stop illegals from entering the US then start with where the largest number of them come from - namely those hired by US businesses to work part-time. There there really needs to be a better method of keeping track of migrant workers in the US. I am afraid you are living in a world of complete delusion if you think I would believe anything that Trump's buddies would say. I've been watching US politics for decades and I've got a pretty fair idea of what news source scan be trusted. FOX is not one of them.
  12. I suspect you are in for a few ugly surprises in the next few months. The truth is going to come out and it wan't be good for Trump. That is why he is running scared.
  13. Looks like you have completely swallowed all of the Trump Kool-Aid. And why would I bother with Trudeau? You seem to think I am one of his supporters. I'm not.
  14. I think you might want to read up a bit on the history of US interference in Latin America, and especially Central America. It is not a pretty picture. The US bears enormous responsibility for the existence of many of the disfunctional regimes that exist there. Start with El Salvador - it might be a real eye opener. The only wall I know of that was moderately successful was the barrier built along the borders of East Gemany and other Iron Curtain nations during the Cold War, and it was not actually a wall. And the only reason it worked was that the border guards had orders to shoot to kill. Maintenance? Well, think of the wall as a bridge or road. What happens when those are neglected. It doesn't take long for even well-designed structure to start deteriorating. I suspect you are familiar with the fact that large bridges are continually undergoing maintenance and none of them are 3000 km long. Also consider the fact that anyone who really wants to get past the wall might make efforts to vandalize it. It only takes one hole to make it useless. And you might want to tell the idiot you worship that a president is not a dictator. He doesn't seem to understand that.
  15. I suspect that Canada is a bit different from the European nations that are having trouble with immigration. There are a number of reasons why immigrants from any country might settle here with less friction. One is that Canadians are used to immigration; after all most of us started out that way either as original immigrants or the children of immigrants. That makes Canadians a little more tolerant and accepting. I remember seeing a table of teen girls at a local Tim Hortons. One of them was blonde. another was of African origin, a third was East Asian, and the fourth was South Asian. It seemed to me to be a perfect metaphor for the new Canada. Another factor is that Canada has an enormous mix of immigrants. It is difficult for new arrivals to feel isolated when they are surrounded by millions of people who seem quite similar to them. Just sit in any public place and watch the parade of nations walk by. For most European nations immigration in the numbers we are seeing today is quite unusual. This can lead to friction between new arrivals and the original inhabitants. I suspect this will all work its way out in the long run.
  16. Not only lefties visit nations that are possibly dangerous. if they did then I took several cruises with a boatload of lefties to visit nations that were on the list I sent you. I do remember wandering around Cartagena and noting the presence of numerous police armed with sub-machine guns although I did not see any in Morocco.
  17. Go to a Trump website? You're joking, of course. That would be like interviewing Hitler in 1944 and asking how much he had helped Germany. BTW it appears that Trump's recent comment have sent the market into free fall. And there is no evidence that the higher employment levels of any Americans are due to Trump since the current boom began before Trump was president.
  18. I note that you made no effort to refute any of the points in the article, so yes, your efforts are futile.
  19. There is probably a fairer and more permanent solution than building a wall and that is to do something about the situation that sends hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants toward the US border and that would be to help with the situation that is making them so desperate in the first place. The US could easily put pressure on the brutal dictatorships in Central American nations that sends people fleeing for their lives - why doesn't it do it? And then there is the fact that the US owes these nations something in the way of reparations for the past exploitation of these countries. Give the potential migrants a reason to stay home and then the problem is solved. Certainly, it will cost a bundle, but in the long run it would pay off with increased trade to Central America and as I mentioned, the US is at least partially responsible for the mess that exists there now so it should probably be prepared to do something about it. Also the wall idea is useless without maintaining a border patrol at least as large as it already it, so where is the savings? An unpatrolled wall would easily be bypassed without constant patrols and then there are the maintenance costs to add to the bill.
  20. Here is a lever that Canada has yet to use. Huawei wants into Canada. In fact it has contracts with a number of business firms in Canada. I suspect Canada will get a more favourable reaction from the Chinese government if Canada hints at blocking any of those contract in the interest of national security the way the US and a number of other nations have done.
  21. You don't have to be a so-called "leftie" or go to a Muslim country to be victimized if you are a female tourist. There have been a number of reported attacks on women tourists in various nations that do not have Muslim populations. And I am wondering how anyone would know the political affiliation of a victim in any case. 10 Most Dangerous Places For Women Travelers (And How To Stay Safe) https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurabegleybloom/2017/07/28/10-most-dangerous-places-for-women-travelers-and-how-to-stay-safe/#578d2bf52448
  22. According to inside sources Trump was merely the figurehead on the Apprentice. He was basically told what to say and when to say it by the show's directors. Like all things Trump it was pretty much smoke and mirrors. But it is entirely possible that without the false image projected by the show Trump would not be president. 23. Please name one Trump measure that has helped the average American. They are both threats, but if you think Russian interference in American politics is not a threat; then your idea of a threat and mine are quite different. Even FOX thinks Russia is a threat. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/heres-how-russia-will-try-to-interfere-in-the-2018-elections
