This will definitely put an end to the U.S bullying this region...it also has the backing of Russia and China If republicans get into power they can't bully Mexico around and use their troops to stop the Mexican drug cartels without Mexicos backing or face the wrath of 32 other countries whether its a no fly zone or sanctions this is excellent but why would Canada be invited into a Latin American bloc? Canada wasn't snubbed cause we're not a Latin country

Interesting, this went almost unnoticed today, any thoughts? Its interesting how many blocks and unions are being reshaped or made lately first russia and its former soviet sattelite states, possibly the E.U, Canada/American, Latin America the world is dividing into factions Whats more interesting is China congratulating them...look for this in the future to do something http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-12-03/latin-america-forms-bloc-without-u-s-canada.html Latin American and Caribbean countries signed the “declaration of Caracas” today in Venezuela to formalize the creation of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, an economic and political bloc that excludes the U.S. and Canada. Leaders and officials from 33 countries approved the declaration that pledges to improve ties in the region. The Celac, as it is known, which Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says fulfills the dreams of Simon Bolivar and other liberators in the hemisphere, will seek to boost regional trade and integration and may create an international reserve fund to protect its members against the global economic crisis. “We’re laying the foundation stone for integration,” said Chavez, who postponed the same summit in Venezuela by five months after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. “Only unity will make us free.” While leaders from countries critical of the U.S.’s foreign policy, including Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, have said they expect the Celac to replace the Washington-based Organization of American States, other members from Mexico to Chile see it as a complementary organization. Caribbean, Latin America “This is in our interest, not against the OAS or Iberoamerican Summit, this is integration between Latin America and the Caribbean,” said Juan Manuel Santos, the president of Colombia. “I laud the meeting as a step in the right direction for Latin America.” While the U.S. refrained from commenting, Chinese President Hu Jintao sent Chavez a letter congratulating the region for the creation of the group. “I’d like to send my warmest congratulations,” the letter said, according to an e-mail from Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry. “China is always looking to approach its ties with Latin America and the Caribbean from a strategic perspective and is willing to deepen dialogue, exchanges and cooperation.” Chile will assume the presidency of the group during its first year and the next summit will be held in Santiago at the end of 2012.

Oh do they? prove it http://newsfeed.time.com/2010/11/26/no-pat-downs-eh-canada-too-polite-for-tsa-style-searches/ Canadian authorities say the country’s airport screeners won’t resort to American-style groping. Because that wouldn’t be nice. Transport Minister Chuck Strahl called the American approach to security “provocative.” (Read about TSA rage.) “Canadians obviously have a right to expect to be treated properly and respectfully at airports,” he said. “While the Americans have instituted a more intensive … pat-down technique, that’s not happening in Canada.” (Intensive? Is that what the kids call it these days?) So, my friends, go north!

As a citizen of Canada do you want armed U.S police officers on Canadian soil? Simple yes or no answer http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1094483--border-deal-fuels-concerns-in-canada OTTAWA—Armed U.S. police officers will for the first time be allowed to operate in Canada along with the RCMP as part of far-reaching changes in Canadian-American border operations to be unveiled next week by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and President Barack Obama. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder revealed last fall that the deal will authorize Canada and the U.S. to designate officers who can take part in police investigations on both sides of the border. The pilot project, Holder said, will improve the two countries’ ability to deal with the “unprecedented” threats along the border from terrorists, human smugglers, illegal firearms traffickers and drug dealers. The model for the joint policing program is the Shiprider project, a three-year-old plan under which the RCMP and U.S. Coast Guard join forces and ride in each others’ vessels when patrolling boundary waters.

what the hell do you think cross border policing is? basically both countries will train teams that are authorized to cross the border..they will extract suspected terrorists, people in drug organizations...but you know how this can and will be abused uncle sam hates drugs but I'm not surprised, you hate real Canada and love Harperland you're not a Canadian, just a wannabe yank
-
Canada is Canada, U.S is U.S, having both countries police officers crossing the border is a violating of sovereignty and should the conservatives go through with this they will sign their death warrant come next election
-
