The Ill feeling between left and right on immigration
Omni replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes I'm quite aware of country populations. And obviously we don't have a magic wand. I'm pointing out the kind of approach such as Chretien's to Bush's invite to enter an illegal war in Iraq. -
Yet another of HE's "troother" heroes. Susan Lindauer (born July 17, 1963) is an American antiwar activist and former U.S. Congressional staffer who was charged with "acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government" and violating U.S. financial sanctions during the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. She was incarcerated in 2005 and released the next year after two judges ruled her mentally unfit to stand trial.

Oh I doubt that very much. There may be some tweaks here and there, but nada mas. Trump's huffing's and puffing's are simply his schtick. Sensible people will take care of the business.

True enough, and that has been the focus of our policy for the years following PET's revised protocol on immigration. However refugees is another story. We should stand up to our neighbor(s) and stop the misguided foreign wars that create them. Syria for instance. -
Evidence that proves you wrong, so you conspiracy theorists close your eyes and put you hands over your ears and probably dance around going la, la , la ,la la. But I can't help making you scream over and over. Perhaps if you sat down and actually read some of the evidence provided to you, you would be able to relax a little.

Yes and we all know where you get your ridiculously inflated "guesswork" numbers. The Fraser Institute reputation suffers as much as those who follow it. -
Watch a little TV, you'll see who the joke is.

#1 export market times 38. I thought you would have been able to figure that out. How much influence has your emissary Rodman produced so far? You understand he is a joke, Right?
-
Actually we're not worried at all about trade talks. The 38 states who have Canada as their #1 customer will be the first to simply ignore Trump and carry on with their existing trade. But since our west coast is also as close to NK, we thought that dinner idea might be a way of calming things. Maybe Rodman could go for another visit and hand deliver an RSVP invite from the Donald.

When's Trump planning to follow up on his idea of inviting Fat Kim to the WH for dinner?

What does Trump get paid for besides playing golf, and oh yeah, pissing off the Chinese?

Yes to hear some of those discussions you would think the country was fracturing further into chaos with the arrival of every non WASP immigrant. Then as you say, you read the actual stats, or as I have been lucky enough to do, you travel the country from sea to sea to sea,and see for yourself it just ain't true. Xenophobia can be overwhelming to some I guess. -
America under President Trump

I got a kick out of one of the latest ways Trump opened mouth/inserted foot. He claimed he won New Hampshire because, "it's a drug infested den". Yikes! And as it turns out that was a lie as he didn't win NH, but the big backfire is he is suggesting that whacked out drug addicts are part of his fan base. I wonder if that has donned on the "god ole' boys" from Alabama etc. -

We have a history of racism in our immigration history. Let's see now there was the Chinese head tax, Barriers for Blacks, Whites only for the west, Indians need not navigate to Canada, Japanese Gentleman's Agreement, Nazi Fleeing Jews: None is too many, etc.,based on the ideals of those "uneducated scum". Lets be thankful those days are behind us and more enlightened people are handling the issue. -
That's correct, and as I pointed out originally, it ends in January next.
-
I don't know how many had jobs or owned homes, but applying for permanent residency status would likely be difficult because, they are in the country as asylum seekers and the DHS considers Haiti to be a safe country, and of course there is the current political situation which wants to build walls and deport anybody who is not white it seems.
-
Except they can't after January, so I guess it's any port in a storm time.
