Worldwide demonstrations for "science".
Omni replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Well you enjoy your coffee because we are heading toward being the next species to end up like the woolly mammoth. -

How I do it? I hire people like NASA to do it for me. They cost me a bit with all those satellites and such, but they do cover the globe and send me regular reports. That's the only way I can respond to such a silly question. -

And so you are trying to tell us because your little PC didn't go tits up on your little desk that all the coal dust and smoke we have sent airborne doesn't matter or have any effect on the real world. Try again! -

The average global temperature has risen more in the last few years, including 2016, since 1930 when global temperature recordings have been kept. Sorry pal, you lose again. -

1. Record ice in the antarctic is due to increased temps. causing increased evaporation leading to increased rainfall which is not salt water reducing the salinity of the surface layer and thereby reducing the freezing temperature. 2.and 3. That's weather not climate. 4. Oceans are rising at least you agree to that. And just wait until the Thwaites Glacier slides off of Antarctica and I hope you don't own property in coastal Florida. 5. Polar bears are drowning because they have to swim so much to get a seal for food. -

Yeah I have noticed there have been earthquakes and tornadoes here. I was in one each in Afghanistan and The Philippines respectively, and by golly you're right I'm still here. But if you dig a little deeper into the science of climate change you will find there have been many eras where humans could not have existed, and that's why they didn't. Our activities our heading us back into another one of those times. There will be swamp bugs etc., that will survive I guess. -

Hard to believe you are that unaware. Go check out what is happening to the Great Barrier Reef, the arctic ice, the antarctic ice, the temperature records, etc., etc., etc. Obviously science is not your forte. -
The Ill feeling between left and right on immigration
Omni replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Nope, I'm just open minded enough to allow people from wherever into this country as we have always done, so long as they follow the laws of this country. If they want to bow their head in a mosque, a cathedral, a synagogue, or a church then so be it even if I won't join them. -
Hey but ah, do some reading and come back later.
-
All right, so you admit to having no real knowledge of the law in question. So why prattle on causing wax build up in my ears?

I guess that's the third time I have had to inform you I don't support any religion. Why must I do that? -
Your arguments are so flimsy so I am not surprised you're annoyed.
-
Obviously you had no time to read that text, and it's obvious you have no pre knowledge, so, your argument falls on deaf ears, again.
-
Then why don't you try it?

Why do I have to always repeat to your type? "I don't support any religion." And you are free to disrespect anybody you want I guess. And I'm free not to be so narrow minded. -
Try googling the IRPA act in Canada and learn a little bit of Canadian law.

I don't support any religion. I assume you have your head up one of the others. But I don't hide under my bed because someone from a Muslim country wants to come here. -
And once again you demonstrate your lack of knowledge of law. I have friends that walk into my house every other day. If they don't steal money, where is the crime?

Oh, Christianity did a pretty good job of it as well don't you know? Actually no you don't seem to, but immigration is one thing, xenophobia is another. The success of immigration has focused a light on xenophobes. They tend to scramble around like worms when you do that. -

I think you are right. A lot of businesses have come to realize and accept the data provided by the vast numbers of qualified scientists that there is a problem, and that it is largely man made. And while Trump wants to reestablish coal as an energy source, another guy who may know a little bit about energy has something else to say. http://fortune.com/2017/03/30/ge-ceo-trump-climate-change/ -
Let me clue in a bit: lot's of people are arrested who have not committed a crime. But lets move more to the point you seem so breathless about, crossing the border into Canada wherever you do it is not illegal, if in fact you are a refugee. You certainly can be detained, but then you are given a chance to prove your status. A lot of people fleeing war torn Syria for instance, can prove that status. So every dark skinned person who jumps the fence into Canada is not a criminal as you seem to think.

Perhaps if you tried it you could at least attempt to relax your xenophobic attitude, and maybe you could stop the insults and maybe even sleep better. -
Borders mark the parameters of a country. I'm surprised you need to have that explained to you.
-
Go study Canadian law on the subject and get back to us before you make further unfounded comments.

They have not broken a law if they have what is deemed as a valid refugee claim.
