  1. This is sig worthy.
  2. It's not a scam. It's just juicy, delicious gravy.
  3. The gift that keeps on giving... Rob Ford's receptionist flees as warrior princesses descend About a dozen costumed protesters — mostly women dressed as CBC character Marg Delahunty, Warrior Princess — couldn’t trick or treat their way into Mayor Rob Ford’s city hall office Monday. As they tugged on the locked glass door to the reception area, the young male receptionist avoided eye contact — resisting an offered plate of Halloween cookies — and fled to an inside office, leaving them in the hall. Thankfully, nobody called 911. Those protesting Ford’s reaction to a comedian on his driveway — he called police and swore at a 911 operator when officers failed to arrive promptly — put down their plastic swords and gave up. “I think he’s unqualified to be mayor ... he’s not the chief executive of a major metropolitan city,” said Gayle Hurmuses, who organized the bit of pointed whimsy through a http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=208178215920348 Facebook pageEND that said 247 had promised to attend. “What motivated me was just calling attention to the idiocy of him calling 911 on Marg Delahunty.” Jack Cunningham, who teaches history at a U of T-affiliated centre, dressed in black as Leonard Cohen and wore a “Stop Ford” button. He said he was protesting Ford’s “contempt for the arts, poor judgment and bad temper.” The mood brightened when Tom Beyer, Ford’s jovial assistant usually behind the reception desk, came out, accepted two cookies, gave them some Double Bubble in return and said: “Thanks for coming — you ladies look great. Fantastic, very impressive.” http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1079184--rob-ford-s-receptionist-flees-as-warrior-princesses-descend?bn=1
  4. Guys, please keep it up. This is gold material.
  5. I disagree. Rob Ford has provided some excellent comedy for us, and will most likely continue to produce AAA material for the rest of his term.
  6. Olbermann dubs Ford ‘worst person in the world’ If you ask Keith Olbermann, Rob Ford is the worst person in the world. Toronto’s mayor was featured in Olbermann’s Worst Persons segment of his Countdown program Friday for his behaviour when he called 911 after his encounter with This Hour has 22 Minutes’ Mary Walsh. “The new conservative executive (in Toronto) has had a rough start but never was it rougher than Monday,” the political pundit said. Early Monday morning Ford was approached by Walsh, in character as Marg Delahunty, on the driveway of his Etobicoke home. Ford then called 911. The CBC, citing anonymous police sources, reported that Ford said, “You ... bitches! Don't you f---ing know? I'm Rob f---ing Ford, the mayor of this city!” Police Chief Bill Blair has since said that these reports are inaccurate, and that Ford never used the word “bitches.” Olbermann read all but the first remark on-air as he railed against Ford and named him the worst person in the world, edging out Glenn Beck. “Toronto’s Rob effing Ford The mayor of his effing city. Today’s effing worst person in the effing world,” said Olbermann in conclusion. Ford, who is now in Guadalajara, Mexico, for the closing ceremonies of the Pan Am Games, could not be reached for comment. http://www.thestar.com/article/1078201--olbermann-dubs-ford-worst-person-in-the-world#article
  7. We can only assume his daughters were attacked by a lone wolf, CBC-funded, islamic terrorist. If you look closely, you can see the gradual progression of pedophilic rape that Robina Ford must have endured.. http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/ad/28/06f586d842b58c9fda39515b9cf1.jpeg http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/76/c9/9982342a48dfac1660c5d58de054.jpeg http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/72/84/6acc74294f1cafcbdce73924221f.jpeg http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/66/b1/badc7247449c967bfc021fbc9860.jpeg http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/20/cf/d397fc804306ba28f3729cd45a1a.jpeg
  8. It's more embarrassing watching people like Wild Bill defend him.
  9. Pressure mounts for Mayor Ford to release tape of 911 call If Rob Ford asks Toronto police for a recording of the 911 calls he made after he was ambushed at his home by This Hour Has 22 Minutes, they will release it to him. • He said, she said: Mary Walsh vs Rob Ford (I strongly recommend clinking this link) “It could be released to him and he could do with it whatever he chose,” said police spokesman Mark Pugash. The disputed contents of that call have stirred fresh controversy for the embattled mayor following a CBC News report alleging Ford berated the 911 dispatcher in a profanity-laced tirade. Ford admitted to using the F-word in the call, but has denied insulting the female operator, calling the CBC report “absolutely false.” But pressure was mounting Thursday against Ford from within City Hall to obtain and release the tapes to set the allegations straight. Left-wing councillor Joe Mihevc said “it's absolutely important for the tapes to be released to clear the air,” adding Torontonians should know how their elected officials treat city staff. 10. Was he driving at the time he made that call?
  11. Yup. Thankfully, I want the generator to be built (and I live in Mississauga) so I don't really give a damn that he lied. That said, the people who bought into the lie probably won't be voting Liberal again.
  12. Finally, proof that the conservatives are tough on crime!
  13. Not working for me.
  14. I almost want to keep him in office for the comedy value alone.
  15. OMG you just gave me the best idea.
  16. CBC made the claim that Quebecor receives taxpayer funds. It accomplished that claim in its latest report (if you want to call it that). This is not libel, unless you received your law degree at DeVry. Also, it had no obligation to mention Quebecor's contributions because that is irrelevent to the claim that Quebecor received taxpayer funds.
  17. CBC leads 'get the facts' attack on Quebecor Quebecor Media Inc. has received more than half a billion dollars in direct and indirect government subsidies over the past three years “but is not accountable” to Canadian taxpayers, CBC/Radio-Canada said on its website Tuesday. The broadcaster made the statement in a post on its “Get The Facts” webpage, where it responds to critical or inaccurate media reports. In a counter-offensive attack on its competitor, CBC said Quebecor uses public subsidies and a “dominant position in protected industries to make record profits yet complains that its TVA television network 'competes' against Radio-Canada.” The CBC added that “Quebecor boss Pierre Karl Péladeau has sent over a dozen letters to the Prime Minister and others in government to complain that Radio-Canada does not spend enough money advertising in his newspapers.” The post on the CBC website comes as Conservative MPs on the House of Commons ethics committee are spearheading a study about the CBC's transparency under the Access to Information Act and its withholding of records from Information Commissioner Suzanne Legault. Quebecor and Conservative MPs have criticized the CBC for a lack of transparency. The CBC is withholding records under an exception under the act that covers information about journalistic or programming activities. The QMI news agency, owned by Quebecor, has filed hundreds of potentially embarrassing information requests about CBC spending. A court battle over the exception is now being fought at the Federal Court of Appeal. Quebecor CEO Péladeau is scheduled to appear before the ethics committee Thursday morning. http://www.thewirereport.ca/reports/content/13094-cbc_leads_get_the_facts_attack_on_quebecor Also.. direct from CBC.. What Quebecor won’t tell you about its attacks on the public broadcaster For more than three years, Quebecor has been using its newspapers, and more recently, its SunNews Network TV license to pursue a campaign against CBC/Radio-Canada. But there are some things Quebecor won’t tell you: - Quebecor has received more than half a billion dollars in direct and indirect subsidies and benefits from Canadian taxpayers over the past three years, yet it is not accountable to them. - Quebecor uses this public subsidy and its dominant position in protected industries to make record profits yet complains that its TVA television network "competes” against Radio-Canada. - Quebecor boss Pierre Karl Péladeau has sent over a dozen letters to the Prime Minister and others in government to complain that Radio-Canada does not spend enough money advertising in his newspapers. Quebecor says we’re not accountable. They’re wrong. - We report to Parliament through our Corporate Plan, Annual Report and Committee appearances. - We report to the CRTC through regulatory filings and license renewals; - We report to the Auditor General of Canada who reviews our books every year and who conducts a special audit every five to ten years; - We report to the Board of Directors, which is appointed by government to ensure that the Corporation manages its resources effectively. - We report to Canadians through the posting on our website of the cost of meals, flights, and hotels. - We also post details of audits, Board meetings, quarterly financial reports, and over 27,000 pages of information released under ATI. See for yourself here. Quebecor says we shouldn’t go to court to protect journalistic sources or program strategies. Why? - We, and the Information Commissioner, are trying to clarify the rules which protect "journalistic, programming, and creative activities”. This is the proper thing to do. - In fact, government departments and Ministers have gone to court more than 180 times with the Information Commissioner to clarify Access to Information issues. http://www.cbc.radio-canada.ca/media/facts/20111018.shtml ...and lastly, there's this wonderful PDF to use as an intro during board meetings.. This is a side of CBC I've never seen before.
  18. Let's use some basic math here. Your post makes 0% sense.
  19. What a commie.
  20. And then use AM radio to propagate your bullshit lie to millions of commuters.
  21. He won't increase taxes. He'll eventually scrap the land transfer, and make the surplus look like it was his doing. Set your dial to AM radio for the latest propaganda when that happens. I'm sure Oakley has tons of creative ways to make him look like a hero.
  22. Toronto expects $140M surplus for 2011 The City of Toronto is expected to have a $140 million surplus this year, thanks in large part to greater than expected revenues from the land transfer tax that Mayor Rob Ford has said he wants to dispense with. The $139.3 million surplus was revealed Tuesday in a report prepared by city staff as an update on the city's financial situation. It will go before council's budget committee next week. The main contributing factors to the surplus include: - An intake of $79.5 million more than expected from the municipal land transfer tax. - $22.5 million more than expected from supplementary taxes. - $15 million in interest and investment earnings. - Internal services that came $5.4 million under budget. City budget chief Mike Del Grande said the city should not rely too much on this newfound money. "This has been the whole issue of sustainability of the budget," said Del Grande. "That you don't use one-time monies to balance your budget. One-time monies are just that, they're one-time." Del Grande wants to see the money go into a reserve fund in case the economy slows. The land transfer tax has been a favourite target of Ford, who promised to get rid of it during his election campaign. The land transfer tax will likely remain for the time being, but Ford has insisted its days are numbered. In a July interview with radio station AM 640, Ford said he hopes to be able to phase out the tax in increments by 2014, despite also trying to bridge next year's budget gap that is estimated at between $500 million and $774 million. The land transfer tax brings in about $300 million to the city's coffers, staff believe. The total Toronto budget stands at about $9.4 billion. Coun. Janet Davis told CBC News that scrapping the land transfer tax would remove an essential revenue source the city needs. "If mayor Ford wants to cut the land transfer tax, we'll be in huge trouble," Davis told CBC News. "It is generating $300 million a year for the city of Toronto and that's money that is ensuring programs and services Torontonians need will be able to continue." http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2011/10/11/toronto-surplus-land-transfer-tax548.html
  23. I wonder if the The Sun will mention the cost of that massive highway Hudak has just pledged to bring next to Niagara.
  24. Hudak criticizes ‘war on cars,' pledges to construct Niagara highway Cut taxes. Spend money on a highway we don't need while polluting the environment. Bad for the environment. Bad for the economy! MAKES COMPLETE SENSE DOESN'T IT?
