For Conservatives, contrary positions are treasonous
CPCFTW replied to Shwa's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Funny how most other front line Oilsands workers voted for the CPC. I guess their experience was a bit different than yours. -
Now I have to pay for health care twice to have principles? Should I build my own roads to drive on too? Weak. Come back with some better material guys. Even calling me an idiot, retard, the other repeated insults was better than this. When are you guys gonna give back your mortgage loans and houses to the evil bankers? If you had any principles you'd give it all back and save up 300k under your mattresses!

Is that what the consensus media told you? -

NDP goes to Washington to beg them to kill Canadian jobs and this is The Star's story? -
That's your argument? Yes I pay taxes and I've been to the doctor maybe twice in the last five years. Why does it always come back to using health care for the left? As Canadian citizens we pay taxes and are entitled to the same services as the left, regardless of whether we agree with our tax dollars being spent to provide health care for everyone. No I will not be burning the health card that socialists forced me to pay for. The left's arguments are getting weaker by the day.

Man to be charged with Assassination attempt
CPCFTW replied to olp1fan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I assumed you were serious about locking him up forever given then left's hatred of religion (other than islam/buddhism). My apologies. So now let's get this straightened out, you're saying because he is a religious nut job that excuses him from trying to assassinate the leader of the free world? -

Laws, wars, protests and ANGRY OLD UNCLES
CPCFTW replied to jacee's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I doubt this guy exists, and even if he does, he is such an anomaly that it isn't worth discussing. If Bob is willing to risk being thrown in jail and leaving his family and 4 children on welfare for the sake of growing his own marijuana, then they're probably better off without him Bob the pot growing accountant better dig up those plants! Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. And you can bet that conservatives would love to increase the punishment for that sort of activity if not for bleeding heart lefties whining that it was the system and social inequality that drove you to commit such acts. -

The hypocrisy of the left rears its ugly head in an 18 minute time span. -
People don't watch Dragon's Den or Hockey Night in Canada for news or to form their political opinions. And you just said that there was a "weak" guy representing the left on a show you were watching on Sun TV. Ridiculous argument. You're even more biased than the heavily left biased CBC.

Majority backs public funding for CBC, poll finds
CPCFTW replied to Shwa's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The consensus media is the media that manufactures consensus. For example, manufacturing consensus to support CBC funding. -
You have to prove that there is a left-wing bias on the CBC, but the fact that Sun TV is biased to the right is an undeniable fact. It's simple.

Why would I have to burn my health card? I already paid for it through taxes. And I don't see you claiming that the occupy protesters have to burn their ipads, laptops, designer clothes, and bank cards. Of course it would be hard to find 100 people who wanted to camp out indefinitely against public health care because anyone opposed to it would have a job. But that has nothing to do with my original point that you can't just set up camp at any public location, call it a protest, and scream "human rights violation!!" when the cops come to take your tents away.
-
I don't see why it's so hard to believe there are limits to peaceful assembly and dissent. I couldn't round up 100 like-minded individuals and set up camp on the 401 in uptown Toronto for months demanding that we dismantle public health care. Right to protest on public property is limited by the effect that it has on other members of the public. Pretty simple stuff folks.
-
No doubt. But this thread is about putting the transit underground so that we can have both faster public transit along the eglinton line, as well as the possibility of more eglinton car lanes in the future. Transit is not being affected other than being put underground where it will be able to go faster.
-
Your cite for your assertion that Ford only wants the subway below ground for aesthetic reasons is a biased opinion piece? More lanes = less congestion. It's pretty simple. Your true intentions are showing, you want everyone to forego cars because of your boner for the "green" movement. Want a cite? Give me a few days to publish an internet article explaining your opinion. Grow up.

Yes his comment, prefaced with "guys", was only directed at me. All others are free to continue with the childish banter and personal attacks. Hmmm I think they're mostly about corrupt governments who violate human rights. Now you're getting it. And Santa Claus isn't real either! I consider camping and shitting in public streets to be slightly worse. I don't mind equating power with wealth as long as people have equal opportunity to acquire wealth. My problem would be with a monarch or other head of state (for example a Socialist government) impeding the acquisition of wealth through excessive taxation/regulation. More observation actually. I'm not sure you really understand the term "whining". Why not head down to Zucotti Park? There's no shortage of whining there. Earned by those from whom it was inherited... as in "at some point". A personal attack? Not surprising. Saying that people are "participating in" the status quo does not mean I am speaking for them. Just like me saying you are participating in this thread does not mean I am speaking for you.
-
Cite? The above ground portion will occupy space that roads could be occupying. Or did you forget that roads can be expanded? Oops. Speaking of educating oneself, did you educate yourself on the fact that the subway will be able to go faster and move more passengers by being underground? Oops? Typical.

Great find. 6mins to 9mins is MLW in a nutshell. That one protester manages to embody all of our esteemed left-wing posters in a mere 3 minutes, complete with the requisite personal attacks. His worship for certain public institutions is pretty comical as well. "The EPA and Board of Education are sacrosanct and anyone who wants to discuss their importance is a fool and an idiot!! Now hear me out while I propose an entirely new economic order!" How can anyone not loathe these "revolutionaries"?
-
When did I mention anything about aesthetics? I said we'll be happy we don't have hemp-powered streetcars clogging Eglinton when the GTA population is about 3-4 million people larger. I hope you took a few tylenols before reading the above sentence, it's a doozy.

Welcome to the real world. Hats cost money too!

Aww you'll figure it out one of these days. Don't give yourself a headache thinking too hard!

Majority backs public funding for CBC, poll finds
CPCFTW replied to Shwa's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And the majority of people would think giving every Canadian a $10,000 cheque is good spending too. Doesn't mean we should borrow $350 billion from China to make it happen. Most individuals are ill-equipped to participate in national economic decision-making. -
see: Nope. And they don't. Yes, justice costs money. Everyone shouldn't be entitled to a team of high priced lawyers to concoct the optimal defense just because OJ Simpson can afford it. I do? I don't recall doing much whining... mostly arguing, laughing, and using emoticons. Sure why not? We'd be a lot better off if more people focused more on leaving wealth to their children than leaving more trees and debt. Some people choose to quit their jobs and set up tents in a park to chant meaningless memes and copulate with stoners, others choose to work two jobs at a time, and live a moderate or thrifty lifestyle while saving and investing. All wealth was earned at some point. What exactly did I wish for? I said "I'll choose wealth over power", which happens to be the current status quo that everyone save for a few hundred hippies per city of millions is participating in. The "movement" has a long way to go before I fear any sort of conflict. For now I fear the movements I leave in my toilet more than this "movement".
