No you don't. You just have a hate-on for Harper. Your schtick is getting old.

If you'd bother to read the post I quoted, you'd see that the Sun didn't mention the proposition. I don't think there are any unbiased media. I wouldn't classify NaPo as right wing anymore though... it is probably the closest to a centrist paper that we've got.

Canadian Labour Congress on corporate tax cuts
CPCFTW replied to RonFournier's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yup. You see when people save and invest, they start to accumulate investment income which can be used for consumption. On the other hand, when people are encouraged to borrow and consume what they can't afford, short term bubbles are created, and people go into debt. When the bubble pops, people spend most of their income on servicing debt. Let's not forget that most consumption is imported, whereas most investment is domestic. It really is a no-brainer... Too bad there are so few brains on this forum! -

It never ceases to amaze me how derisive of investors the left is. -

Better investor returns = more investment = more capital to expand the economy... Come on guys.. it isn't that complicated. -
I'm pretty sure what he said was that the effective tax rate would be 35% or whatever. If you make over 1mil, you're tax bill automatically becomes at least 35% of your income regardless of the source of your income. So basically he just wants to tax the hell out of anyone making most of their income from investments. I guess that's fair.. Pay the highest marginal tax rate on employment income, then when you've saved and invested the left over money that the fed hasn't taxed, pay at least 35% on the income those investments derive. Because you haven't paid enough taxes at the highest marginal rate accumulating that wealth in the first place..

Ok I admit it! I'm a hot 21 year old girl with double D's... Can we move on?

The lefty media has started to manufacture consensus I see. Will you at least 'baaaa' for them?
-
Yes it absolutely is. It doesn't even make sense for starters. I suspect there would be many Americans who suddenly only make 990k. Let's say most of your income is derived from capital gains and dividends, and your effective tax rate is around 15% because of it. You pay 0.15 x 990k = approx 150k in taxes. Will you realize 10k more cap gains so that your tax bill doubles? The tax haven banks must be rooting for Obama though. Besides tax havens, the other possibility is that some people move from the US and start realizing their cap gains in another country. Most of their income is derived from investments so they aren't exactly bound within any borders. It's just not going to work and will most likely hae the opposite effect. Watch for US tax receipts to decrease if this ever sees the light of day.

Yup she is. Light rail is for second class cities, not a first class city like Toronto growing exponentially. Laird drive is barely a few blocks east of Yonge street. By the time this project is completed, that area could be packed with condos given the proclivity for developers to build along public transit lines (not to mention that Toronto has the highest rate of condo development in NA). Furthermore, sprawling metropolitan areas are extremely inefficient. This is a large part of the reason why Toronto is in a deficit. A subway line along Eglinton creates a huge incentive for developers to focus development on the metro and Scarborough area. Btw was it the Star who decided that the lefty councillors were suddenly "the powerful political middle"?

I was unsettled by how much Obama sounded like an Occupy protester. Might as well have been chanting his state of the union address in sentence fragments, with mindless Occupy drones repeating each fragment. I fear for the free world if Obama gets re-elected. He could very well bankrupt the world superpower which has kept the world safe for half a century.

I knew one who constantly derided me for "taking advantage" of "girls who loved" me because I didn't take my relationships seriously. Then he dumped his first gf after like 2 months (he was near 30 at this time).

EVEN the red star!?! Then it must be true!!

Yup those entitlements can be tough to pay for when you don't pay taxes or do anything productive.

Compare to $0 in tax revenue.

Harper chickens out meeting with First Nation
CPCFTW replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You think the FN Chiefs wouldn't show up for more handouts? The difference is that Harper doesn't get anything from FN Chiefs except for grief and begging, FN Chiefs get billions from the feds. -
Stintz is an ignoramus. By the time this thing gets finished, there will be plenty of traffic judging by Toronto's rate of growth.

It goes without saying that there will be people with different opinions on every topic throughout every political affiliation. You just like arguing for the sake of arguing. -

I just said that I believe the majority supports the pipeline. I believe that the majority who oppose the pipeline are far left wing environmentalists. There are certainly bound to be people of every political affiliation who oppose it though. But how could we ever measure the effect that the pro-ethical oil lobby has on the opinion of these marginalized individuals? You don't really make much sense.
