If you support the USA terrorists, if you, meaning the YOU who are supposedly part of "Government of the people, by the people, for the people" can't or won't control your criminal employees, then you have no business continuing to delude yourselves that you somehow function in a democracy. You are describing a totalitarian system of government and I find it amazing that anyone would admit being satisfied with such a situation. Sadly far too many are, they seem to relish the fact that their governments are slaughtering people and stealing their wealth. And the most shocking thing is they can't even start to imagine that happening to their own children, their parents, their aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. Would you like to know what Layla Anwar, an Iraqi lady thinks of the USA and its helper terrorist nations. It's very eye opening. Continuing, aiding the 117 years of USA terrorism against the people of the Philippines. The Rape of the Philippines!

What appellation would you suggest for those whose reading comprehension is not up to snuff?

No, we don't all agree with the designations, which the consummate liars of the USA used to invade and destroy two nations, have placed on Omar. Why would a thinking person put any trust in a nation that has done nothing but lie lie lie about what it actually is? Just the USA terrorism against Nicaragua should be enough. The USA, the only state that has ever been convicted of being a terrorist nation by the ICJ. Again, the invasion of Afghanistan was in itself a war crime. The USA has no standing, save for the ability to use its overwhelming brute force, to be trying anyone. It's like the Nazis trying Nelson Mandela. And remember, it was the USA that was supporting South Africa in its apartheid, in its treatment of Mandela. The USA has never been on the side of right.

Global Islam & Terrorism - The Long Game (Opinion)

You correctly describe it as a fatuous notion, Shady, that Nicaragua would be a threat to the USA, and yet the USA attempted to advance that same completely fatuous idea of being threatened by Nicaragua in their lame defence of their heinous terrorist actions against the people of Nicaragua. In a court of law, no less. (bolding is mine) Did Nicaragua respond with terrorism and war crimes against the USA for this vicious attack upon their country and people, like the USA did against Iraq and Afghanistan. For those who like to whine and moan about 911, the death toll in Nicaragua was 10 to 15 times that event. And the USA created, trained, defended and supported the Contras, in direct and with full knowledge that they were contravening US and international law. The Contras, who were every bit the equal of ISIS in terms of brutality. Lest anyone think this was a one time event for the USA, let me disabuse them of that thought. This atrocity committed against the innocent people of Nicaragua is just one example in a two plus centuries long line of illegal and immoral actions against the poor of most of the countries of the world, often multiple times against the same country. What is so amazing is the huge disconnect between the oh so frequent, the unrelenting lies of the USA that it is a kind, benevolent nation and people, a peace loving country, when the opposite is true. The USA has always been and still is today, a vicious, brutal country that has preyed on the poor of the planet. -

Try to regain your composure. You sound apoplectic. So why did Reagan and his not at all merry band of war criminals illegally invade and destroy Nicaragua. Why are you, yet again, defending vicious terrorists, arch war criminals. All textbook examples of the most vicious type of US terrorism. This highly illegal and immoral yet all too typical USA action saw the USA hauled into the International Criminal Court of Justice and convicted. See, Nicaragua vs the USA http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicaragua_v._United_States -
Q: What would you say to someone who is contemplating extremism and looking to you as a young person? A: What I would tell everybody is to educate yourself. Dont let emotions control you. Education is very important, Ive noticed that a lot of people are manipulated by not being educated, so education is very important. -------------------- Evidently, Omar is a whole lot more intelligent than many "educated" Canadians. Good work, Jacee. I wonder what these educated Canadians have against the truth, facts, honesty, compassion, ... .

You obviously don't get it, Hal. The Americans are not the worst people in the world. American governments since WWII have invaded the poor countries of the world for one reason, to ensure that USA business interests can steal the wealth of the country. That makes them war criminals and terrorists, as it does to those who support them. Remember, you're either with us or with the terrorists/war criminals. Yes, the USA is the largest and the longest running terrorist group on the planet. You prefer to side with the west, okay, you side with the terrorists, the war criminals; by the USA's own definition, not to mention the historical record.

"The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!" Yup, those Afghans are gonna fly right over here and wipe us all out. You know Reagan reminded us just how close Nicaragua is to the USA. He got a whole bunch of people crapping their drawers over a Nicaraguan invasion of the USA. And he also delivered this howler. Sorry. I hope you don't die laughing. -

"the bomb", Rue?! How about 40 years of bombs in Afghanistan, bomblets purposefully left behind by the ever benevolent Uncle Sam that kills many Afghan children each and every day. Depleted uranium for them to breath. The evil that you go to such lengths to support informs us all that your goodness knows no bounds. -
"No single American action in the period after 1945," wrote the historian Gabriel Kolko, "was as bloodthirsty as its role in Indonesia, for it tried to initiate the massacre." Each page you turn, or as it is for most of us "moral" westerners, each page you refuse to turn, brings news of even more, greater USA/UK/Australian/... savagery. How can this be? We supposedly are the ones with the open societies, the ones who staunchly support the rule of law, the open press - guardians of our democratic principles, and all the other tired bullshit that we so frequently see and hear, replete with hearty congratulations all around for being such decent human beings.
-
You hear of a massive genocide where, with the able assistance of US/UK death lists, half a million plus people were slaughtered, untold numbers were imprisoned and for you it's not worthy of a mention. You'd rather dither back and forth with other like minded compassionate folk on something you seem to know precious little about.
-
Canada most assuredly [doesn't] live in isolation. It has long been passively supporting, recently changing to actively supporting, USA (and UK) war crimes and terrorism around the globe. You post long diatribes on this forum, Rue, but there's never any factual basis for the things you so readily spout. Nor are there ever any sources from you to back your opinions. When you are faced with the facts you disappear, only to surface down the road to, like Old Faithful, spout some more. Funny you should talk about boogeymen, the favoured ploy of the USA. All those years and none of their boogeymen ever showed up. But for the less fortunate of the world, who hadn't, couldn't cozy up to número uno war criminal/gangster/terrorist nation, things haven't gone so well. 248 armed conflicts since WWII and the USA initiated 81% of them. How does it feel cozying up to the equivalent of the Nazis?

You, you know who you are, obviously didn't listen to anything, and had you, you wouldn't have heard anything anyway because you have so bought into the lies from the biggest liars on the planet. A 95% conviction rate by USA prosecutors in their normal day to day "rule of law" society. Anyone who entertains for a brief second the most ludicrous notion ever, that Guantanamo, just another one of the USA's torture/disappear centers, has remotely ever approached the rule of law is a blithering idiot. The numbers tell all: https://www.humanrightsfirst.org/sites/default/files/gtmo-by-the-numbers.pdf

I wasn't attempting to answer his question, AG. I can't make any sense of the remainder of your post, AG. If you could say it again, just adding a few appropriate pronoun/noun references I would be pleased to answer your questions.

As you likely were "educated" in the USA, I have to assume that there is a small to negligible chance that you understand how quotation marks are used. Pointing fingers like that is simply another dandy example of American hypocrisy. "By the end of his term, 138 Reagan administration officials had been convicted, had been indicted, or had been the subject of official investigations for official misconduct and/or criminal violations." "If the Nuremberg laws were applied, then every post-war American president would have been hanged." -- Noam Chomsky -
All this talk of terrorists simply further enables USA (yes, and their lapdogs) propaganda. It's ludicrous to moan and whine about the relatively insignificant events (measured against the world scale of terrorism) that happen within western countries when it's clear that the USA is responsible for the vast majority of the world's terrorist acts. "My own concern is primarily the terror and violence carried out by my own state, for two reasons. For one thing, because it happens to be the larger component of international violence." -- Noam Chomsky So we don't waste valuable cyberspace ... That doesn't mean, of course, that any human suffering, on either "side" isn't painful to those affected by it.

Precisely, Shady. I am exercising free speech to illustrate how the USA, the bastion of freedom, regularly, and with the connivance of other western nations, like Canada, takes away not only others right to free speech, they regularly murder people who want to have the same rights we enjoy, right in their own lands. After such an incredible abuse of power, from these oh so righteous western nations, they then steal the very bread from children's mouths, the ones that they haven't managed to blow to smithereens or have their death squads dispatch, or get with their land mines and bomblets left around for kids to play with. Now do you really want to advance the ludicrous notion that this tiny contretemps that you folks are obsessing over is more important than the lives of some 3/4 of a million people, just in Indonesia, that the USA and the UK arranged to have slaughtered? You do, of course, realize that the USA and the UK permanently took away those folks right to express themselves freely.
-
Don't you think it's important to have at least a basic understanding of the issues before you participate in a forum? Finally some honesty. Thanks for admitting that the USA is no different than the worst war criminals and terrorists on the planet, Shady. I knew you had it in you. International law applies to everyone, except rogue nations. Thank you for also clearing that up for us; we all agree - the USA is a rogue, terrorist, war criminal nation.
-
When this is put in the necessary context, it's easy to see just how perversely insignificant this tempest in a teapot is. That same freedom of speech isn't extended to those in the countries that the USA has invaded, either militarily or thru the CIA. Take for example the USA sponsored Indonesian genocide of 1965-66, where the US made up lists for military death squads and then checked off names when the people on those lists were bludgeoned, garrotted, beheaded (take note any ISIS detractors out there), shot, ... . Now what possible right does the USA have to create death squads (and then check off on their list those executed at their behest) in other peoples' countries? Where is the outrage over this Indonesian "perverse reward system is created when we suspend our free speech rights because certain people don't respect those rights"?

Have you forgotten about the indiscriminate violence, the targeted killings of men, women and children, (one might ask, who else is there?), of Cambodia? By none other than kind, benevolent Uncle Sam. Do you remember, or even know, of Henry kissinger's directions from Nixon to the USAF - "Anything that flies on anything that moves". Might that qualify as indiscriminate violence or outrageous, inhumane evil?
