Non-invasive investigations can still be harmful. Screening MRIs and CTs often uncover 'abnormalities' that are not harmful, the further investigation of which can harm the patient. Healthcare is a classic example of the seller having much more knowledge of the product than the buyer. Patients can be easily intimidated into parting with their money.
