  1. Another demonstration as to why I hold John Kasich in high regard: video link I still don't think he has a hope in hell winning the nomination, but as I said last Summer before he announced his intention to run, I think he would make an excellent Vice President and do yeoman's work as the head of the Senate.
  2. Simple, because his mother was a US born citizen.......no different than John McCain being born in Panama or George Romney being born in Mexico.
  3. A tale of two polls.....the first was conducted Feb 10-15, and shows Trump with a "uuuuge" national lead over a tied Rubio and Cruz........of more interest, and it could just be an outlier, was another one conducted Feb 14-16, or after Trump's meltdown in the South Carolina debate....in it, it shows Cruz pulling ahead of Trump (within the margin of error though) and Rubio in third.........furthermore, I find this interesting: Saturday's primary will hopefully clear up the race to a degree, prior to next week's debate and the coming Super Tuesday....
  4. Yes, I watched all the Republican debates live, minus the one on Fox Business (I watched delayed online) and about half of the Democrat's debates, namely with the rise of Sanders.
  5. Here's a link to the above endorsement
  6. Sounds like South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is about to endorse Marco Rubio, who's currently polling 2nd-3rd in South Carolina......If Rubio gets a strong 2nd, that should be it for Bush...........Of the mainstream field, in my opinion, Rubio is in the best position to steal some of Cruz's support and beat Trump.......in polling against Clinton, Rubio, unlike Trump, wins in a general election.
  7. At this point, I wouldn't expect Trump to win the nomination......60-70% of GOP supporters reject his version of the "truth"......
  8. Who would it be filled with? Its hardly a surprise that the majority of GOP supporters don't like Trump... When was it established that George Walker Bush lied? That would suggest that he knew there were no WMDs in Iraq and said there were regardless........ Trump's version of the truth seems the sort spread by the Micheal Moore, Oliver Stone, Alex Jones types.......even mainstream Democrats don't suggest that the Bush Administration lied......
  9. Sounds like a Trump talking point.......per the RNC: Should it really be a surprise that Trump gets booed (in a Republican function) when he states George W Bush lied about WMD in Iraq, and that 9/11 was his fault?
  10. After tonight, I look forward to seeing both Bush and Rubio's numbers........
  11. Big is subjective, Trumps already at his ceiling, after tonight, I don't know how that ceiling doesn't start dropping in on him.
  12. After tonight, Trump owns the market on tin-foil........
  13. What is funny, not ha-ha funny, is that Trump has moderated his tone the last couple of weeks, and even started out alright in tonight's debate......but completely lost his noodle.....some much so, you even had Rubio defending the Bush family and Kasich mocking in Trump........ George W Bush is still immensely popular among Republicans, even more so in the South........It will be interesting to see George W Bush's speech in support of his brother this Monday.......SNL will need to sign Will Ferrell to a retainer for next week and beyond....
  14. "Mainstream" as in Micheal Moore.......or Dennis Kucinich........Ron and Rand Paul might have opposed the war, even called it a failure, but to suggest the Bush administration willing lied about it, during a Republican primary race, has entered the realm of tin-foil hats.......I don't see how Trump breaks out of his ceiling of ~30-35%, and of that, doesn't loose support.........Trump's performance wouldn't even have been "mainstream" in a Democratic primary. His support of Planned Parenthood should cede whatever religious voters he has over to Cruz, Carson and Rubio.....even Bush. If Trump wins the nomination, somehow, start planning for President Clinton......
  15. Trump is imploding in the debate.......The 9/11 tinfoil hat stuff, blaming "W" for 9/11 and suggesting "W" should have been impeached.....He is getting booed by the crowd, attacked by the other candidates and hard questions put to him by the moderators.....if this doesn't finish Trump, nothing else will...other than the general election.
  16. So Trump might sue Cruz over his Canadian birth/Natural US Citizenship.....unless Cruz stops the negative adds against Trump.
  17. Interesting story: And more on the eventual Koch versus Trump war: I'm surprised Cruz is on the list........the question though is if a Koch air war on Trump, pointing out how stupid and lacking in substance reality his slogans are, would work.......or (as pointed out) would it further strengthen Trump and his attacks on special interests?
  18. Without a doubt.......As far as I can remember, the differing sides always had extreme elements, the difference today, in my opinion, is that they have become more pronounced with the Internet, in turn gaining more attention (by the media) and feed on the cyclic pattern that is politics.
  19. I wouldn't know, but then, I don't paint large swaths of people with a wide brush. You don't think the Democrats have their own rabble, from the neo-socialists, Occupy types, rabid feminists, "social justice warriors" and "Black Lives Maters" and other race baiters?
  20. Never been to Goose Creek, but have been (golfing) several times to Hilton Head.......lots of money there, I doubt too many Sanders supporters.......never been to Kings Bay, but do remember them building it in the 80s.....quite the hero project......been to the boomer piers on Guam, the base in Bangor several times (own property between it and Bremerton) and got a lunch and tour of Will Rogers in Holy Loch in the later 80s.......... He could do, I fully expect tomorrow's debate will be a good show, with everyone attacking each other........could turn into a circular firing squad....
  21. I tend to agree, unless the bottom four spots are within a few percentage points, I can't see how the RNC wouldn't start urging one of Bush or Rubio to pack it in. Bush has a cadre of retired flag officers in his camp, in addition Senator and recently retired colonel Lindsay Graham and big brother stumping for him among vets. (You lived in Charleston South Carolina, to work out of the boomer base at Kings Bay, on the Florida-Georgia state line....whats that, 7-8 hour commute each day?) ------------- Meanwhile, Trump is treading carefully around "W" and outlying his plans for making great deals: Golf.
  22. ......And Rubio did well among them in Iowa....As I said though, Carson getting 3-4% from Cruz could be the difference for Trump and one of the establishment guys.
  23. I think a bigger liability to Cruz........
  24. Without a doubt, but Carson still has a small base among the religious right, cutting Cruz's lawn........as I said before, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Trump is keeping Carson afloat, with the promise of something later on........VP? Secretary of Grain Pyramids?
  25. Hilarious......Cruz launches new adds calling Trump sleazy, then has to pull his own adds, directed at Rubio, after it was found out one of the actresses was a porn star I still think both Trump and Cruz will finish in the top three, but its going to be nasty........can't wait for the debates on Saturday.
