  1. I think the dog whistle was too high a pitch for you........The theme of the Wizard, Tories are the ones protecting hard working Britons/Canadians, with sound management and low taxes and the other guys are not, stated namely by implication only.....simple and to the point, without appearing negative.....
  2. No, hence why I shifted to the other thread.
  3. To keep this thread on topic, I'll redirect to the Wizard of Oz thread.....
  4. A contrast of 2015 David Cameron adds: and several of the new CPC adds:
  5. Sure, I find it proportional.......the population of Canada versus the European Union etc
  6. Right, and is why the EU will close it borders and:
  7. Hey now, the new adds will feature a more human Harper, sitting around the table with your average Canadians, found within key electoral ridings in Ontario and British Columbia......much like the humanizing adds David Cameron released in the last several weeks of his election.
  8. Or spend it on beer and popcorn?
  9. Can I invest it? Can I pay off household debt faster with it? What about a couple of extra mortgage payments? Take the kids to see Mickey? etc.....
  10. Just wait until the man behind the curtain starts pumping truth.......6 new adds, staring the PM, set to debut.....stay tuned
  11. Well no, its not, as the Government ensures I, like other Canadians, won't see a cent until I'm in my 60s.......I think several thousand dollars removed from the households of middle income Canadians will go noticed.......
  12. And with that, a redux of Fortress Europa I think this and the American response, coupled with domestic polling of Canadians, will offer further resolve to the current Government's refugee policies........rue those that jumped too soon in offering to bring in thousands of unwanted refugees.
  13. Hey now then, I'd much prefer the Trudeau Liberals released their own engine, so Canadians can see how much more the Government will scoop from them.......
  14. Sure it can.....under the Liberal (or NDP) plans, increased premiums are not voluntary for both employee and employer......what would you call that?
  15. Ahh the new Trudeau tax engine........gather the family and see how much more you'll have taken off your paycheck to fund Trudeau's CPP scam....
  16. Sure.......and as I said, there is no requirement to face a confidence vote until early 2016........when said Minority Tory Government would present its speech from the Throne and new budget.......
  17. I know, and that is my point........thanks though.
  18. Ahhh no, the Speech from the throne was on 19/11/08, the Government's first opposition day wasn't to be until the first of December of 2008......The Liberals/NDP/Bloc made known their plan to bring down the Government.....the GG prorogation was granted on 04/12/08 until late Jan of 2009......
  19. Harper clearly stated (in the CBC interview) he felt the party with the most seats should form Government...... What day does it start? Explain the 40th Parliament and resulting prorogation......
  20. Canadians don't elect leaders.......
  21. But not in Canada, and not after one party ruled out a formal coalition........refusing a sitting Prime Minister's request, with a plurality of seats, would create yet another Constitutional crisis.....
  22. I know the conditions haven't been repeated, nor has a sitting GG refused any Canadian Prime Minister's request since..... Prime Minister Harper hasn't lost confidence yet either, likewise (as mentioned above) the Liberals have ruled out a formal coalition with the NDP, unless either party had more seats than the Tories, I see no reason, likewise no precedent (since King) for the GG to not grant the Prime Minister's request for another election, which of course are also in his Reserve Powers, and have been followed as convention since King-Byng..........as such, if the Tories received a ~150+ seat minority, I see no reason why they won't govern......... Inversely, if one of the Liberals or NDP win ~150 seats, I would expect them to form Government..........
  23. Sure, and is why, since the Liberals have renounced a formal coalition with the NDP, the GG would allow the current Prime Minister (or his replacement) the chance to gain confidence in the House, after the Winter break, and why, if defeated in a vote of confidence, would oblige the Prime Minister's request for another election.
  24. Yes. Well no, it doesn't demonstrate that, quite the opposite, as since then, all Canadian GGs have obliged the request of their respective Prime Ministers......hence why I used it as an example.
  25. What is the upside for the Liberals to join in a coalition, as junior partner, when polls indicated they are on an upswing from their last showing? If the Government does well, in the next election, the NDP gain seats at the Liberal's expense, if it does poorly, the NDP and Liberals are painted with the same brush.......hence why Trudeau is ruling out a coalition. Without a formal coalition, if the Tories won ~150 seats, on defeat, the GG will send us back to the polls (based on convention post King-Byng affair)........The Tories are the only ones that can afford an election........
