  1. I don't agree that this is happening across the board.
  2. I don't think I mentioned regulating or enforcing it. I was merely opening up discussions to help reduce the number of victims killed by impaired drivers.
  3. I am only suggesting that bars need to step up to the plate and assume more responsibility. I don't have the answers, that is for sure. But there needs to be more communication between the police force, bar owners, patrons etc to prevent further accidents like this tragic one. As I have mentioned previously, a lot of these accidents happen after someone has left a neighbourhood bar/pub. The bartenders know their patrons. It's not rocket science to call a cab for a drunk customer.
  4. Innocent people are killed. Not sure what your point is here but it's not worth getting into with you.
  5. Well, absolutely. Where is the govt?
  6. Impaired drivers kill innocent people. How does that compare to goodlife and tim horton's customers. Let's get real shady.
  7. I do have a hard time taking Shady seriously.
  8. You are missing the point Shady that drunk drivers kill innocent people, not themselves.
  9. Alrighty then, let's carry on and let the pubs/bars profit and take no responsibility.
  10. I should have said ' the malaysian airline/airport' should have reported a rogue aircraft.
  11. That is exactly my point. As I mentioned above, let's keep an open mind and work together to reduce the number of victims due to impaired drivers.
  12. Anything we can do to reduce impaired driving is good, no?
  13. It doesn't? Why not say "Can I bring your bill now"?
  14. Bars are profiting from pouring drinks down their patrons throats. And then they are sending them out on the road. Time for them to step up to the plate and take on some responsibility for their profit taking.
  15. There is a tremendous markup on drinks in a bar. Of course they will encourage alcohol consumption.
  16. Many of these accidents happen after someone leaves a bar/pub in their neighbourhood at the local bar. The staff most likely knows their patrons. Crowded bars likely have plenty of transit as mentioned above. We need to be more concerned with bars/pubs that have no transit available.
  17. These girls are being sold for 12.00 each. How pathetic.
  18. Bartenders/waiters/waitresses know how much they are serving their patrons. They can ask 'Do you have a DD?' "How are you getting home?" There is nothing wrong with asking these questions.
  19. Exactly, was the Malaysian govt sleeping at the wheel.
  20. Why do you think that bars should not take responsibility if they over serve their patrons? In this particular accident, the bar recalls serving this patron and how much they served them. They could have easily called a cab for this person or insisted that this person not drive home or have done whatever they could to prevent this person from getting behind the wheel of their car. Maybe they did, I really don't know.
  21. I agree absolutely that drivers bear responsibility. I am suggesting that bars need to step up to the plate and take on more responsibility, in whatever capacity that may be. I really don't know the answer to that, but we need to keep an open mind and not take the position of knocking down this issue.
