  4. There were numerous rebuttals from same band of empty headed progressives who are always indignant whenever anyone disagrees with their emotional devotion to open immigration. None of them ever have any economic or logical reasons or cites other than things like "I love ethnic restaurants!" and "Anyone who objects to immigration is like Hitler!" That's the sum total of YOUR arguments, to date, in fact. Your vacuous protestations that anyone who objects to immigration is a 'xenophobe' or 'bigot' only shows the depth of your inability to debate. The only person I've seen on this site in the last year who can even attempt to put up an intelligent and coherent defense of immigration is carepov. And even he will admit there are problems with immigration which ought to be corrected.

  5. Really? This is an immigration advocacy group. What do you expect them to say? Immigration is how they earn their living. They quote the same disagreement that the immigrant researchers did with the Fraser Institute's first report. The Fraser Institute read their rebuttal, examined it, and then, while taking some of it into account, repudiated most of it based on faulty design, and came out with a new report the following year. You understand that, unlike immigration advocacy groups the Fraser Institute does not have any particular axe to grind or profit to make in coming out with a report on immigration, right?

  6. There is that, too. Most of the areas where we take immigrants are extremely corrupt in all levels of society. I've heard a number of stories of immigrants being given interviews for professions and being unable to demonstrate more than the most cursory level of knowledge of what the job even involves.

  10. The fact that Netanyahu congratulated Marcon does not mean he endorses his the positions.. Its in the best interest of any leader to welcome in a new one. Are you suggesting Trudeau supports Trump because he was so polite to him and congradulated him on his win? That said I agree with Scriblett that Macron sounds dangerously naïve like Trudeau and Merkel on terrorism but I am not sure Le Pen at this particular time pulling France out of the EU would have helped anyone but China and Russia. I also think its fair to say anyone who thinks France can pull itself away from Germany's economic control is as naïve as thinking Canada and Mexico can do that with the US. Britain certainly thinks it can and it will be interesting to see if Britain can. Le Pen only was popular because there were no clean conservative running the French could trust. Le Pen's popularity hit a ceiling and never grew. Maron was the default candidate. Le Pen had just too much violent supporter baggage. Le Pen's cultural views are very popular in Quebec as well as France-its in fact her other policies that frightened people off. I think its safe to generalize and say French are very chauvinistic people (pride of nation) and if Marcon keeps pushing a non French anthem on his people they are going to bite his buttox. He's got to be careful not to be seen as a puppet of Merkel. He is going to be tested reacting to terrorist attacks within France like his predecessor like him was lefty touchy feely but had to turn into a tough security leader. Doesn't matter who runs France, they are faced with serious internal dissension with their Muslim population and terrorism and bloated unions that make them uncompetitive on world markets.
