I didn't watch the video, nor do I want to. This whole thing, (Israeli/Palestinian) is about one not wanting the other to exist, and it is also about whether a country has the right to defend itself from constant attack by terrorist elements, and I contend that Israel is just defending themselves on several terrorist fronts, Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda, Iran and Syria, and they have every right to defend themselves from attack. When civilians wind up being killed there is a big hue and cry from the peaceniks who blame Israel for those deaths, when in fact the blame should go to the coward radical Islamists. These cowards hide amongst the civilian population and fire rocket propelled grenades, and missiles into Israel targeting the civilians. In the eyes of these cowards there are no innocent Israelis, and therefore every Israeli is a legitimate target.

A prime example of this cowardice was displayed in the Mosque just a few days ago, when the lead Imam tried to sneak of of that mosque dressed up like a woman. Even his own people should have been questioning his motives with this pathetic display of cowardice. When the Pakistani government forces were about to end the standoff, he attempted to sneak out and leave both his followers behind, as well and hundreds of women and children. What a cowardly piece of S--t! Anyone who still follows this piece of human garbage should question their own sanity.

I do not condone violence by anyone, but if attacked, as Israel has been, they have every right to use whatever force is necessary to protect themselves, and to attack wherever their enemy is presently hiding. If the civilian population is so concerned for their safety, maybe they had better start standing up for themselves and throwing the terrorists out of civilian areas and into the open. To do otherwise implies that they condone what the terrorists are doing, including using them as human shields.

I think the video is an irelevant non news worthy minor incident taken out of context to be exploited by those looking for an excuse to demonize Israel and so I found it ironic being shown by a supporter of Israel whose comments I appreciated except his decision to use this video which I believe is a sad thing, not something to be proud of.

That said, I agree entirely with your comments.

Extremists and terrorists of any kind I despise. I hate people who hate.

I have no problem with multiculturalism-----the problem is when it becomes a matter of forcing other people's culture on the majority, getting special legal treatment, or having to water down the majority culture because the crosses at Flander Field's offend someone, etc...

Then you have a problem with multiculturalism. As should everyone.

No I have a problem with how people interpret the term. I have no problem with people being multicultural as long as they dont enforce it. I have no problem with someone not acting like the common Canadian---i.e. if someone from India is not Christian, prefers cricket to hockey, enjoys rice more than potatoes, etc...

I am making this point because I dont think its necessary to adopt Canadian culture, and it would be unreasonable because we cant ban people sitting on Yoga mats burning incense saying ohmmmmm. But I do feel it is necessary to do this within your own personal space without obstructing others and trying to change the overall laws of society so that everyone has to think like you.

I dont like how a complaint was made to a school in Tennessee concerning a child who brought his/her Bible to school to read on personal time. But does this mean that being a Buddhist child means you will necessarily make this complaint?

It is precisely this kind of incident that anti-Israelis and anti-semites use to incite hatred of Jews and Israelis

Unfortunately, judging by the nature of the comments below that video, it seems like they are succeeding.

Aye thats true Bonam. But its my guess that these people are just fishing for something anyway. I dont think it is really succeeding, probably most of these people were anti-semitic Muslims they way they are foaming at the mouth. And that woman with her Jews-control-everything rant certainly did not pick up all her complex ideas after watching that video.

When I heard that I wondered how it would be received.

Apparently when brave Flora McDonald dressed the Bonnie Prince Charles in woman's clothes to escape from the English, no one though him less manly.....

Are you suggesting Prince Charles was a terrorist who used his religious status to incite terror in his followers?

Prince Charles was a pathetic weak despot fleeing for his life but to suggest he was engaging in the same morally equivalent act is just not true. Prince Charles crime was his birth status, not his telling people to engage in terror.

1) Charles Stuart did indeed strike terror...and his army sacking a few English towns would be considered a terrorist act by today's standard....

2) Had Charles Stuart renounced Rome his claim to the throne would have had much more strength...certainly more than German George. The idea of a catholic king certainly terrorized the English, who remembered the persecutions of Bloody Mary.

3) Charles Stuart never had a chance to be a despot. He lived by the hospitality of the King of France.

I'm not suggesting any moral equivalency between bonnie prince Charles and the Pakistani mullah. I am suggesting situational equivalency, both fled in woman's clothing. And I imagine the followers of the Mullah feel the same about it as they did in 1749

Mike's video of this incident and its use by the people who posted it on YouTube as a rallying point for anti-Israel muslims and anti-Israel anything else could be a good topic on its own, along with the comments. I.E. how anti-Israel people will fish for any ridiculous thing to make the case that Israel is an oppressor. That is a good topic.

Mike's video of this incident

It's not my video at all. I just found it on youtube while trying to look for wedding stuff.

I take appreciate the Israelies defending themselves and excersing their laws. I'm suprised how thin skinned a lot of people on the forum are actually. The incident was really between kids.

None the less, it was a real situation that happened. A raw situation. Something that you wont see on the mainstreem media becuase it's not really news. It really paints a picture of the daily lives of these Israelies and the struggles they go through just to live in peace.

One day, maybe Israel will have peace. But this peace is only possible when Muslims in the area decide to stop the conflict.

Mike, I didn't mean "your video" as in you posted it on YouTube, but I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant Mike's video as in you posted it here. I know it is not your video because I am sure that the youtube poster had a very different motive than yours, one which I don't buy into either.

All I am saying Mike is that there is not enough information about what happened in the Youtube video to clarify anything for me. And even though I support Israel defending itself---against ketushas and the like---I am not sure if this video reflects that struggle by and large. All I see is a girl pushing a girl in this case. Now it may be that the girl broke the law by crossing the lines. I am not denying that. But I wouldn't call it some kind of struggle. The Palestinian girl may have had a friend on the other side. Now even in this case I would support her being kicked out, because I fully understand that people dont have the time to distinguish between who is good and who is bad when you live in a place like Israel. But there was a soldier there who I am sure would have escorted the young lady back across. There is a definite possibility that one girl was just getting a shot in, which was not needed. Or there is also a possibility the Palestinian girl instigated something. But I dont know either way, so I am not going to cheer over every "schoolyard" squabble which occurs between and Israeli and a Palestinian. I am not taking any great offense to what you are saying or calling you a sicko like KO2 did.

When I viewed the video I thought I can't decide whom is insulting or harming who without more background information. So I didn't post, at first I thought it had been posted to show how Palestinians suffer at the hands of Isreal. Which I consider assine, current events between Hamas and Fatah show that when their lives are in danger they don't flee towards the opposition in Palestine they flee towards Israel for sanctuary. That in a nut shell tells me all I need to know about Hamas and it's supporters.

I don't know where members on this forum stand, it's early days for me as a newbie. But I have no tolerance for the anti-Jew brigate that flood forums with nonsense and bigotry towards Jews.

It was posted here as an example of Israel defending itself.

In early post I think that the Palestinian girl was in Israel. I find there perhaps have some mistakes. Is the West Bank an Israeli territory?

According to my knowledge, West Bank is not Israeli territory. In 1947 Isael and Palestine was separated to establish their country according to an UN resolution. The West Bank was not in the territory of Israel but in Palestinian territory at that time.

In 1967 the Six-Day War, Isael defeated Arabic army and occupied the Eastern Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula, the Golan Heights and the West Bank. The Palestinian are native settlers in the West Bank and Israeli settlers were moved from Israel by Israeli government.

The UN and most countries in the world include America and Canada refused to recognize that the Eastern Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula, the Golan Heights and the West Bank are Israeli territory.

In 2000, Israeli govenment agreed to return 96% the West Bank territory to Palestine, but Palestinian wanted all the territory to be returned. So they missed the opportunity of peace.

Am I right?

You'll fit right in with Canadians.

This Chinese person I used to work with said that the Canadian gov't is a lot like the Chinese gov't; everything happens behind closed doors.

I agree with you Mike, in that this view of the Israel-Palestine situation is incorrect. But I also think alot of people don't know all the reasons why. And I am not the best source to come to for that explanation. Maybe you could explain to Xul why we favor Israel. Given the explanation, he may be understand, and fit in with you, Mikey. JBG and Rue would also be good candidates.

I was being sarcastic. He will fit in with Canada because he has an issue with Isreal.

But he wont fit in with Canada. He will join his ethnic community and not step outside it much.

People like the Chinese becuase they are non violent and don't cuase trouble (I said chinese, not vietnamese hehe). But make no mistake, they are the most ghettoized immigrant that Canada imports. This is most likely due to differences in language I guess..

But you gotta ask the question; why do we allow this? Of all the jobs I ever worked, I've only a few times ever worked with a Chinese person ever. I wonder much of the time where they actually work or what they do to make ends meet. I certainly don't run into them much.

I mean I should, they are Canada's largest immigrant group. They are the largest minority in Canada. But I have many more south asians in face and at work than Chinese by 5 fold hands down.

I know what you meant by he will fit in with the rest of Canada.

But to be fair all Xul did was say....ok This is how I understand what is going on over there, and then he ends his post with, Right? So all you have to do Mike instead of saying "you will fit in with the rest of the lefties" is explain to him why you feel he is wrong and why you and I support Israel.

Mike it seems as if you would be happy if he didn't fit in as a Canadian. You condemn him because he doesn't have your opinion but you haven't even explained it to him yet. You would rather keep him on the other side.

Another thing I notice. re-reading his post is that he says the UN and others refused to recognize Israel...etc. He never once said he refuses to accept Israel. Actually his post didnt show much opinion at all.

Xul is here Mike. Maybe if you explain your beliefs reasonably to him about alot of things he might see some reason in them. He could be a conservative voter perhaps.

His post may have had a few incorrect things in it, but most of it was cold and detached from personal opinion on the matter. IE UN, US refused....he never commented on whether he believed they should have refused. Present the case to him. I am not saying pander to him. You dont have to snuggle him and treat him special, but if reasoning with him, rather than simply casting him aside with "you will fit in with the other lefties", could possibly make him into a Harper supporter what do you have to lose?

If you worked in a software company, you should have more chance to have an Indian colleague than a Chinese. Everyone in the world knows that software industry in India is larger than those in China. So Indian immigrants to have more software developer are reasonable.

Oh, why I was supposed to refuses to accept Israel? In my opinion, the best way of peace between Arabian and Israeli is that Arabian must accept Israel and then Israel return those Arabian territory.

I have never said UN and others refused to recognize Israel. Most country in the world include some Arabian country such Egypt and Jordan have embassy in Israel. Even Israeli government has never deny that the Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights are Arabian territory. The Sinai Peninsula has retured to Egypt when Egypt accept Israel and made peace with Israel.

Israel have not returned the others because they are in the truce with other Arabian country not peace. As a country is in the war (truce is the rest form of a war), Israel of course can occupy enemy's territory for military advantage until peace established.

The big poblem is in the West Bank and Eastern Jerusalem. Israel is unwilling return the West Bank because Eastern Jerusalem locate at the West Bank. Jerusalem is the holy city of both Jew and Muslim so this problem is too complex.

I didn't mean you was the one who supposed me to refuse something. I chose "I was supposed to", in stead of "someone supposed me to" because I tried to avoid indicating a certain one.
