Cbc/bbc And Anti-americanism

Recommended Posts

Morgan, logic is lost on the left and their blowhards. When people say the truth - they are 'right wing', 'fanatical' and the be all and end all of liberal defence 'not nuanced'.

Libs are always 'nuanced' of course. I suppose for Libs the word nuance actually replaces the need to think. They are so nuanced that they are stupid, seditious and defend the indefensible. They are Clintonesque characters splicing word semantics to appear intellectual.

Media bias is real and vibrant. Election 2000 [trying to throw it to Gore], Kyoto and the Iraq war are obvious cases in point. How much more proof do you need than what i and some others have posted on media bias on those 3 issues? Fox News which just reports what happens is branded sychophantic, jingoistic and extreme. Give me a break, now just reporting facts and figures is being a conservative. Good Grief.

Soon telling the truth will be outlawed, along with the words white, honest, direct, heterosexual and straight. Such terms and definitions are not nuanced enough. Whenever you hear the Lib left utter 'nuanced' pull out your B.S. meter and watch it soar to 10.

After all most lib Professors have copy and articles to sell and publish. Inventing dumb theorems on overwrought and useless PhD research, paid by the taxpayers, is vital of course. All the more urgent to get the 'I hate modernity' message out. After all most of these air heads don't work in the real world.

For you to refer to yourself as "Moderate Centrist" is a misnomer in the first degree as your politcal orientation, intentional or otherwise, appears quite transparent. Why is it that liberals can't admit they're liberals in the same fashion that conservatives exhibit pride in being conservative?

The fact that you either cannot or will not look beyond the "sensationalism" and hyperbole employed by Ann Coulter to see the true brilliance of her message says loud and clear that her message stings you.

The fact that you cannot or will not acknowledge the true reasons responsible for the widespead success of Fox News, conservative talk radio, internet newspapers, ect. speaks volumes about how you view conservativism.

Maybe you can fool Connie Chung by refering to yourself in the neutral, but not these chaps.

First off, the very notion of a political centrist is a fairy tale. You cannot perpetually walk a tight role on your political beliefs. You must eventually choose where you stand, and there's no grey area to stand upon.

If you're truly not a liberal as you claim, here's your chance to prove it.

We’re running in circles here. I don’t like Coulter period but don’t really care if you do. The woman is nuts. I have every right to say this and will continue to do so. I’m not trying to convince someone else that she is, merely to provide some back-up for my position.

Morgan, as far as I’m concerned the death penalty is not a deterrent to anything. Before you respond please remember I wouldn’t care if it was a deterrent – I’d still oppose it.

I’m familiar with the John Walker case thanks. My position – no death penalty.

I’m not defending Professor de Genova's comments, nor to I deny that universities tend to be haven’s for leftist thinking. This is due largely to the fact that young people are drawn to radical ideals, which the majority quickly loose when they hit the real world.

“Media bias is real and vibrant”
Craig

You seem to speak of media bias as if it’s a new phenomenon. It isn’t. There has been media bias since there has been media. It’s not going away. It exists to some degree in all forms of news. Deal with it.

The key to it is to demand journalistic accountability and by encouraging the public to think for itself. The only think the news is truly good for is telling us what happened today and the day before.

“to see the true brilliance of her message says loud and clear that her message stings you.”
Righturnonred

Her message doesn’t sting me because I don’t listen for one thing and for another there is no message – only yelling and hollering to get on T.V. and sell books. Coulter can offer me nothing.

I hold some beliefs which are considered liberal and some beliefs which are considered conservative. There’s no need for me to prove anything. If you want to know what I think… ask me directly and I’ll tell you based on my opinion on each specific situation.

Anyway, this isn’t getting us anywhere so that’s it for me for now.

It is pretty bad when you defend state own broadcasting Mod. I am sure in 1936 you would have been one of the watchful proud Nazi sympathizers excitedly claiming that its coverage of the Jewish question was unbiased and premised on facts. You would have hummed along to the marching bands and Nazi trumpets and mused about the right to lebensraum. This is the same as your current ideas on social engineering, social liberalism and anti-americanism [anti-semiticism as well i should add].

It is beyond the pale when you criticse facts as given by others opposed to your ideology. When will the CBC start apologising for the litany of nonsense that they provided as facts, now redeemed as false ?

Even internally the CBC knows it is god awful. Today there is an internal report out on the CBC that confirms what this thread states - it is substandard.

CBC is 3rd rate

An internal CBC study has found viewers suspect the government-owned broadcasting corporation is politically biased

......CBC, especially The National, is stuffy, condescending, uptight with endless pontificating experts."

No make it more clear - Left Wing experts and social Liberals - that tell you how stupid you are, and who always state, 'As everyone knows....' When you hear a CBC 'expert' preface his /her remarks with that line, pull out your BS meter, it should start singing. The CBC maintains that you must buy state owned pablum and palaver and rave about Naomi Klein and other 'experts' who have never had to work in the real world and who get funded by the taxpayers to publish unsourced, emotional nonsense.

But it is Canadian - so like Avril Lavigne - it must be good.

The Media is the watchdog of Parliament. In Canada as J. Simpson rightly explains we have a dictatorship. The media is the ONLY method to keep the all powerful PMOs office in check. The fact that the CBC is a billion dollar crown corp with direct ties to the PMOs office is a scandal. Competition, fair reporting, and making people work for their money is the essence of a well functioning system.

Privatise the socialists at the CBC and introduce them to the real world.

Thanks for the Nazi comparison. But seriously:

"This is the same as your current ideas on social engineering, social liberalism and anti-americanism [anti-semiticism as well i should add]."
Craig

Perhaps you fully explain what my position on these issues is. I'd like to hear that. Please provide specific examples of my views on:

Social liberalism

Social Engineering

Anti-Americanism

Can you do that?

CBC itself admits to reporting bias.

Here are the "7 Violations of Media Objectivity" - all of them can be found in CBC reporting which is one sided and full of rah rah rah:

Misleading definitions and terminology.

Imbalanced reporting.

Opinions disguised as news.

Lack of context.

Selective omission.

Using true facts to draw false conclusions.

Distortion of facts.

honest reporting canada

EXAMPLE: CNN.com offers a list of web sites relating to the Middle East. Under the heading of "General Information Sites," all 12 sites are Arab-related, including one specific Palestinian site. There are no Jewish or Israel-related sites listed in this category.

The same CNN page recommends web sites within each Middle Eastern country. For example, five sites are listed for the tiny under-developed country Yemen, and five sites are listed for Palestine. The Israel category lists four sites.

This is blatant media bias and unprofessional reporting leading people to read and adopt pro-Islamic/Palest. views as sponsored on these websites. CNN has no right to publish such a sad list of propagandist rhetoric.

I have listed many many examples of media manipulation from the CBC to talking head Peter Jennings and his anti-war crusade.

The media is arch Liberal and pathetically one sided. Unfortunately most people garner their news via the major news groups and it certainly colors anti-americanism in the world and gives it focus and force.

Recent example of BBC bias...have you folks heard the news? Halliburton was exonerated of the charge of over charging for delivering fuel from Kuwait to Iraq?

Here's a terse report about the case. Not a good day for BBC.Better read it quick. It may be archived in short order... along with the corrections to the exaggerated Iraqi museum looting story and the correction to Gilligan's piece alleging Dr. David Kelley said PM Blair sexed up the Iraq report...hee, hee

Halliburton off overcharging hook Jan.06/04

A senior US army officer has cleared the American engineering company Halliburton of any wrongdoing in relation to a contract to deliver fuel from Kuwait to Iraq, according to a newspaper report.

Perhaps this is because they listed the most credible sites. And many Israeli sites are radical. Or in Hebrew. Hypothetically, of course.

But I notice you didn't list any other countries... is that becuase those were the most notable, or they were the only ones with 5 sites listed? Really... just curiosity.

CNN.com offers a list of web sites relating to the Middle East. Under the heading of "General Information Sites," all 12 sites are Arab-related, including one specific Palestinian site. There are no Jewish or Israel-related sites listed in this category.

One might also note that the ME is predominantly Arab... hence the perpetual friction with Israel...

Now, I really don't know, but I imagine CNN has Israeli sites listed elsewhere.

Either that, or you might be more correct than I want to admit. [laughing]

Well the CBC violates journalist ethics in its scorching anti-US bias. It is really nauseating. I DON'T want my dollars supporting such drivel. I SHOULD have the right to withdraw support from the CBC ie. funding and so should every other Cdn.

Private funding is the only cure for what ails the CBC and its smug Mansbridgeans.

Dear Mr Read,

Ann Coulter aside, I expect you must be a fan of Ayn Rand. In regards to Israel and Jews, I suggest you read the Talmud and the Torah. Then go to www.israelnationalnews.com and read "Ask The Rabbi".

it is not the wacky 'old laws' that are to be a concern, but rather the interpretation of both Jewish and Islamic law that are going to mankind's downfall.

Thanks to NealeNews, this story by Peter Worthington has come to light about CBC bias in reporting about the conflicts in Afghanistan and most shamefully in Iraq. A must read in full text! Fyi, CBC's "miniscule" $800 Million budget has been "magically" restored to $1.3 Billion...poor performance has its rewards...Award-winning filmmaker Garth Pritchard blasts CBC for its anti-American and anti-military bias, Jan.11/04

When he accepted the Ross Munro Media Award in Ottawa recently from David Pratt - now our defence minister - Calgary filmmaker Garth Pritchard launched a blistering attack on the CBC for its failure to cover Canadian military missions. Virtually all of Pritchard's documentaries on our troops in Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Burma and Afghanistan have won prestigious awards, but were initially rejected by the CBC.

"I've spent a good part of my life in newsrooms around the world, and when the Americans and Brits attacked Iraq I was shocked that CBC National News decided not to 'embed' journalists with soldiers."

The CBC used footage shot by the hundreds of cameramen from CNN, ABC, BBC, CBS, etc., who were embedded with U.S. and British troops, but the CBC imposed their commentary over this footage.

"This alone constitutes a moral - if not a credibility - issue. The CBC was invited to place people in the mix of 550 journalists, but refused.

"Remember, this is the network that tells us Canadians like their news told by Canadians from a Canadian point of view. Having reporters putting their voices over footage from journalists risking their lives and saying what they believed 'really' happened, is unacceptable and wrong. "

Morgan, makes mournful reading doesn't it. Rather sad, that a state owned broadcaster has to lie and invent stories to satiate its bias. Truly mediocre. In a world of channels, broadband, satellite and digital convergence and information, a state owned mouthpiece is a legacy of the Nazi era. Maybe the Mansbridgeans as Steyn calls the CBC, will start to organise marching bands and anti-jewish documentaries [well okay, so they already do #2].

Here is a speech from Cdn Jewish/Business leader I. Asper Nov 10 2002. He states:

Some examples of profound media bias against Israel which result in this dishonest reporting, are found in the world's leading media. Some of the worst in Britain are the London Independent, the Guardian, BBC, Sky News, Reuters, Evening Standard, Britain's television network ITV and the Daily Mirror. In the U.S., the worst offenders are CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC, the Washington Post, the New York Times, the L.A. Times, and Associated Press. In Canada, although not alone, the CBC provides the most slanted and biased information, and routinely practices dishonest reporting.

He got the suspects right that is for sure.

and;

The first and worst lie is what this war is all about. Dishonest reporting tells you that it's about territory, and Jerusalem, and Palestinian statehood, and alleged refugees. Honest reporting would tell you that it is a war to destroy Israel and kill or expel or subjugate all the Jews. But the media has bought and reported dishonestly and relentlessly the big lie that this war could be ended by Israeli land concessions.

The second fundamental big lie is what gave rise to the current version of the Arab war of extermination of Israel and the Jewish people -- the so-called al-Aqsa uprising or intifada. The truth is that when Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat could not get the extravagant concessions he demanded from the Clinton's Camp David meetings, he planned the uprising of terrorism as a means of intimidating the U.S. and Israel into giving into his maniacal demands.

Good points. The Palestinians had a homeland - called Jordan. So now call up Jordan and ask them why they won't harbour these violent malcontents ? The answer is obvious - they are run by a thuggish mafia like clan, dedicated to their own monetary embellishment and violence against a democratic state. Supported of course by Int'l money and media.

As we all know, pictures can tell a story much better than words. So when 100,000 supporters of Israel marched down Manhattan's 5th Avenue to celebrate Israel's 54th birthday this May, the New York Times photograph was of a placard "end Israeli occupation." The same bias was repeated in the coverage of the huge Toronto rally in support of Israel where thousands of pro-Israel supporters marched. A few hundred anti-Israel protestors dogged the parade. But they got more media attention. The separate fact was that an innocent bystander, a Toronto Jewish doctor, was standing on the street watching the parade and called out his support for Israel, Palestinian supporter thugs beat him, and broke his shoulder. This was not reported.

Maybe the CBC is just trying to provide you with something to complain about. *rolling eyes*

The problem is not left wing lies, it's right wing fanaticism. To say that the Israelis have done nothing wrong is pure horsesh*t. They have repeatedly, without provocation or justification, systematically attacked and attempted to annihilate the Palestinian people.

Of course the Palestinians are not blameless either, they are in fact the worse party. But state-sponsored terrorism should hardly be celebrated, either.

Well on Jan 28 2004 the Hutton inquiry cleared Blair of wrong doing in the death of Dr. Kelly and stated that the BCC LIED and reported 'unfounded' allegations against British politicians [NP Jan 29 A12 2 paragraph].

Davies head of the BBC resigned. This is not enough. Davies must be prosecuted, his assets stripped, jail time served and his pension cancelled.

Only by doing the above will you stop state owned mouth pieces from lying. Martha Stewart who is accused of insider trading of .01 % of her Imclone stock and making a profit of then .005 % of her net wealth, has seen her empire slowly fall in disrepair over an insignificant trade. Her crime; she lied to the DA's office.

I want the same process applied to Davies and like minded mouthpieces that spew nonsense in place of facts.

I would expect that due process, the laws and financial punishment to be applied to these snivelling servants that lie and manipulate the media and attack leaders and politicians personally.

Time to hang Mr. Davies.
