Either this government can stand on it's own or it should go back to really being the opposition.

I counted the last 3 pages and jdobbin's got 15 posts on them, and this page isn't even full yet. Talk about monopolizing a thread.

I can think of several threads where certain posters post more than other. The anarchy thread is dominated by Charles Anthony, the 15 minutes of fame thread is dominated by August. The immigration threads are filled with MikeDavid and Argus posts.

I believe the amount of posts you yourself make to this thread is much more than others.

I have an idea. If you don't want to read this thread, mark it as read, don't respond and stop thinking about it.

From what I've seen, New York City has a few signs that are bi-lingual Chinese and English, with the Chinese characters being much smaller. I do apologize for the harsh tone of my post though.

I don't make a big deal about people's language skills as long as they are able to communicate their message. It doesn't disqualify them as far as I can tell. It certainly can limit them and this is probably why politicians in Ottawa try to practice both official languages so that they can speak off the cuff without notes.

As far as language laws in both the U.S. and Canada, people tend to react strongly as they regard attempts to expand or limit those languages as part of a cultural war. People can react harshly both ways. Cooler heads need to prevail.

This isn't true either. There have been numerous posts on here criticizing Tory spending, including Harper's airplane expenses thanks to transparency.

The Harper people keep pointing to the past Liberal governments and saying we are not that bad. I think they miss the point that transparency isn't a selective thing. The make-up artist for Harper was not and has not been revealed as an expense that can be tracked as a line item in a budget not has it is been justified in Parliament.

If it was just the make-up artist it would be one thing but we are not seeing more and more evidence of further hidden expenses by Harper and his cabinet.

The Government's expenses is more transparent than the Liberal's were.

Is it transparent enough? Obviously not for some in the hateocracy.

Will anything be good enough for the hateocracy? Probably not. :lol:

Where's Ricki when we need him? Someone to monopolize this thread with their unrequited love for Harper before makeup is what's needed as an antidote...though Bluth sure is remarkably reminiscent both in substance and style.

Everybody has topics that interest them more than other topics.

In this case "image" and "make-up" seem to be very important topics to Dobbin.

Don't know why,maybe because he lacks an image or because he needs help with his make-up.

What ever the case,and with that in mind, I'm sure Dobbin will contribute just as many posts with the Dion "image" post as he has this one.

Some people don't seem to realize that if they don't want a thread to be appear for them, they simply have to avoid responding to the message or click that they've read the message. It doesn't have to be a constant source or irritation for them.
