Michael Bluth Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 You're right. It hasn't. Are you suggesting that Harper should decide what to do or not do on the basis of polls?Didn't you condemn Martin for doing this or am I thinking of someone else? Just commenting that jdobbin's never-ending obsession with this issue is out of mind for almost all Canadians. Any other reason you want to keep flogging this dead horse. jdobbin Posted May 6, 2007 Author Report Posted May 6, 2007 And even today, Michelle Muntean remains employed by Harper earning a salary that is paid for by taxpayers but not available for the public to see. The issue has not gone away. It will turn up in Parliamentary hearings and further embarrass Harper who wishes it would all go away. He should have revealed the cost and justified it. Quote

jdobbin Posted May 9, 2007 Author Report Posted May 9, 2007 Oh, and are you sitting down? I have bad news concerning the Easter Bunny. Every day is a hoot with the Tories. Today we have this: http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...08?hub=Politics A red-faced Tory MP is apologizing after his assistant impersonated him -- and provided false information -- in an e-mail exchange with a constituent over the hot-button issue of Afghan detainees. An e-mail from Gord Brown's parliamentary office, dated May 2, claimed that every alleged case of abuse involving Afghan detainees had been investigated and proven to be unfounded. That despite the fact the Afghan government has yet to finish an investigation into the torture claims. The e-mail to Randi Davidson, obtained by The Canadian Press, was signed by Brown, the member for Leeds-Grenville. But Brown says the note was written by his assistant, Mark King, without his knowledge. "Those are not my views. They don't reflect my view. That staff member has been reprimanded for sending that out,'' Brown said in an interview. "He shouldn't have sent it out to begin with and he shouldn't have sent it out with my name it on. I'm not very happy about it.'' The e-mail was a scathing rebuttal of Davidson's criticism of the Conservative government's handling of the detainee issue. Fresh questions burst on to the political scene two weeks ago with revelations that as many as 30 detainees, turned over by Canadian troops, may have been abused by Afghan authorities. "Every report of abuse, upon investigation, has been found to have originated with the Taliban,'' said the e-mail. Ah, the red face of humiliation. Quote

Thank you very much. It's sad we have to go to these lengths but we have somebody posting these *reminders* who is trying to justify? brush aside? the Liberal's malfeasance in Adscam. A poster who has claimed he would be equally upset if the Liberals were in power and doing this. Yeah right. If the Conservatives don't meet the deadline then they seriously deserve flack. Until that day the constant reminders are just the petty little annoyance of a sad, pitiable little man. Quote No one has ever defeated the Liberals with a divided conservative family. - Hon.
