weaponeer Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I saw that vid weeks ago, funny. Makes you wonder how many people they stopped before they got the results they wanted. Wonder what the responses would be for Canadians, no better I fear.... Quote
blackascoal Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Unfortunately, one doesn't have to look too far to find Americans like these who know nothing of the world. Look no further than the idiot sitting in the White House. "The point now is how do we work together to achieve important goals. And one such goal is a democracy in Germany." --George W. Bush, D.C., May 5, 2006 "I've reminded the prime minister-the American people, Mr. Prime Minister, over the past months that it was not always a given that the United States and America would have a close relationship." George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., June 29, 2006 "That's George Washington, the first president, of course. The interesting thing about him is that I read three -- three or four books about him last year. Isn't that interesting?" --George W. Bush, while showing German newspaper reporter Kai Diekmann the Oval Office, Washington, D.C., May 5, 2006 "I believe that a prosperous, democratic Pakistan will be a steadfast partner for America, a peaceful neighbor for India, and a force for freedom and moderation in the Arab world." --George W. Bush, mistakenly identifying Pakistan as an Arab country, Islamabad, Pakistan, March 3, 2006 "Wow! Brazil is big." --George W. Bush, after being shown a map of Brazil by Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Brasilia, Brazil, Nov. 6, 2005 "After all, Europe is America's closest ally." --George W. Bush, Mainz, Germany, Feb. 23, 2005 "See, free nations are peaceful nations. Free nations don't attack each other. Free nations don't develop weapons of mass destruction." β George W. Bush, Milwaukee, Wis., Oct. 3, 2003 "Do you have blacks, too?" βto Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, Washington, D.C., Nov. 8, 2001 I could go on and on and on with the lack of knowledge this buffoon has of the world. Perhaps you can excuse the lack of knowledge by the man or woman on the street, but when it comes from the POTUS, it's mindless. One reason the United States finds itself at the edge of a foreign policy disaster is its underinformed citizenry, a key weakness in democracy. -- Stefan Harper and Jonathan Clarke Quote
guyser Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Unfortunately, one doesn't have to look too far to find Americans like these who know nothing of the world. You are right, one only has to look at the average Canadian who understand nothing of the world. The Americans hold no title on ignorance I assure you. Quote
Guthrie Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 But one has to look far and wide to find a leader whose power to cause trouble is nearly as great as his cluelessness Quote βMost middle-class whites have no idea what it feels like to be subjected to police who are routinely suspicious, rude, belligerent, and brutalβ - Benjamin Spock MD

You are right, one only has to look at the average Canadian who understand nothing of the world. The Americans hold no title on ignorance I assure you. I have to disagree with you, most Europeans know more about the US than americans do and they certainly have a wider knowledge on crucial subjects such as world politics, history and especially geography . Canadians, without doubt, hold the title in regard to impeccable manners in my opinion, another aspect in which the US fails abysmally. Quote

Canadian Blue Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Whenever I've gone through the United States I haven't noticed much of a difference with regards to manner's between Canadian's and American's. Plus when I had a job dealing with American's, I actually found that some of the friendliest people came from Texas. Quote "Keep your government hands off my medicare!" - GOP activist
jefferiah Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Pffft. this is not true. I find Canadians are becoming very immature and pompous---without reason. I am a Canadian and I love this country very much, but nonetheless I find it very embarassing how some Canadians make Americans out to be something less calling them arrogant and ignorant, all the way displaying arrogance to a sickening extreme. I would rather consider an American friend as my fellow than these fellow Canadians who think we are so superior. Without a doubt. lack of confidence in one's own leads to bringing your peers down to your level. It's sad really. I was just in Florida on vacation and I was amazed of the friendliness. Maybe that's why so many Canadians move there when they are retired. Well, other than the climate of course. Quote Those Dern Rednecks done outfoxed the left wing again.~blueblood~
