Straight from the Toronto Star. (Link)

The show received middling reviews from critics but was the subject of international media attention before its premiere.

The show had 2.1 million viewers for the first episode and 1.2 million for the second. The second week's numbers are still good, but it makes you wonder how long the show will last. Will it gain any sort of a following?

What will the audience settle at? Half a million?

After sitting through that second episode .... ugh. Uninteresting and just plain bad.

Something tells me they will air they episodes they've already purchased then the show will slowly go away.

Yeah, they're already playing the Boob card. (The latest commercial features a gratutious shot of the daughter's rack and then the pop saying "Have you're bosoms gotten bigger?")

That's usually a death knell for a show such as this, grasping at straws. ;)

If the ratings are dropping that means its found a home on CBC and will not die at all.

I think most people would stick to watching a somewhat funny and accurate depiction of a small town on the prairies [Corner Gas] than something based only on stereotypes coming from Toronto.

No, the show was just beyond complete stupidity, and not even in a funny way.

Can anyone send me a VHS of it? Or DVD copy?

Again with the changing standards. Any reason you picked Top 15 out of the air?

Could it be that the show was 14th?

If the trend keeps up you will have to move your line to top 30 next week, top 45 the week after. And so on, and so on, and so on...

You lack perspective, Ricki. 1.2 million viewers is still a lot. Comparison: the big US hits Shark and House drew around 850,000 Canadian viewers apiece for Global last week, and finished near the bottom of the "top 30". Top 15 is good, even top 30 is pretty good.

If the Mosque drops another 40% this week 720,000 would still make it among the top "entertainment" programmes on CBC (behind only Rick Mercer, I'd suspect.)

If they drop another 40% after that... 432,000 is not successful by normal network standards, but how many people do you suppose watch Jozi-H or ... well, I'm at a loss to actually think of the names of any of CBC's entertainment offerings, but the point is that CBC has kept shows on the air a lot longer, with a lot less viewers.

I think we all realized that there were a lot of people who tuned in to Mosque initially to find out what all the publicity was about, and I don't think anybody expected most of these people to stick around. It'll be interesting to see what Mosque's audience settles at.

People can follow the top 15 ratings on this Canadians website.

It doesn't break it down to how many people actually watched it though. There is a forum where those numbers do get discussed.

You can get the numbers from ad week, but you have to be careful and undrerstand what ity is they are actually measuring.

That being said, show stinks.

Do you have a website for them? I haven't checked them out. Generally, if I want to find out what is coming on Canadian stations, I check out the website I listed.

As for the merits of the show, I saw one episode. I don't watch situation comedies in general though. I've never seen a Simpsons, Friends, Cosby or any other situation comedy in perhaps about 20 years. They are on too early in the evenings for me. I generally have other things to do.

I went straight to the horse's mouth: http://www.bbm.ca/en/top_programs.html

They have weekly PDF reports listing viewership.

Good link. Definitely worth keeping an eye on for the upcoming numbers.

I'll bet by week five they aren't even getting 300,000 viewers.

Yeah it's a good site for thiose of us who work in the trade. They also have a daily e-mail sevice. It isn't like the other two canadian trade mags, Marketing and Strategy, in that it only delivers snippets and quick glances.

Another Canadian mag that deals primarily with broadcast is Playback (same publisher as strategy). It leans more towards production than marketshare type news.

All are on line and with different degrees of access.

I saw the first show of Little House. And I have to say that this is nothing more than an attempt by the good liberals (yuck) at the CBC to provide more multiculturism propagada brainwashing to the Canadian nation.

Personally, I don't trust Islam or its followers, and I doubt if there were characters such as that portrayed in the series, they would be so friendly and willing to intergrate with non-muslims.

PROUD TO BE A REFORMER, BUY A GUN AND PO A LIBERAL!

I look at Playback because I'm a member of the Screenwriters Guild. The problem with their TV ratings is that they are usually two weeks out of date. Otherwise, it is a great site.
