Wouldn't a "holy grail" be something one is "seeking"?

For me it's knowledge.

...jealous much?

I've got many grails, some found and treasured, some yet to be enjoyed:

- The finest brandy in all the land.

- The finest red wine (I'll take suggestions, I prefer Merlot or Shiraz... Pinot Noir is good too).

- Fresh powder in the backcountry, knee high on nice long slopes, perfect for telemarking (found a few of these grails)... there is no feeling more liberating than cutting a fresh line through untouched snow.

- Long descents in the summer on the mountain bike, nothing like a 10pm nearing sunset descent along Tom Snow trail in Kananaskis after a long day of riding.

- Waking up at 10,000ft on a mountain for a misty sunrise.

- The view of Spray lakes from Mt. Sparrowhawk (see profile picture!)

- A major international cycling tour (I want to do Europe, London to Moscow).

- My first Marathon (on my birthday this year, Calgary marathon).

- Finding a book I enjoy (haven't read a good book since The Great Gatsby in grade 12... pretty sad).

- The actual holy grail.

i love the morning, that you love all these things mean you found a love, in essence that makes you enviromentally romantic.

men of freedom walk with guns in broad daylight, and as the weak are killed freedom becomes nothing but a dream...

ever seen a beautiful women? and felt like she could kill you with a look?

what i mean is that you can cope with understanding that surrounding, and act accordingly to what you prefer,

while others might be too lazy or cowardly to do so, that your relaxation and action both are a part of the day you love, technically its a self romance... (or your smoke’n something.....)

Nah uh, I'm not a drug type.

Self-romance, sounds immoral?

I may have at one time, but I've caught the conservative bug since.

I think everything should be a treat or delight in your day. Any of the problems that we squabble over on these forums or in life is nothing compared to the situation that most people in the world live in, where food and water are bigger concerns. Life is absolutely fantastic for nearly every last Canadian, not enough of us appreciate that. I try to appreciate everything in life, you never know when it'll be gone or when you'll be gone. I'd hate to die with regrets or thinking that I was lazy and never did anything.

I had a friend pass away this summer who was very athletic, freak accident, and he's gone. It really woke me up to how quickly things can end. A bad car accident can leave you paralysed and unable to ski or bike... or you could die.

There is a limited number of days in life, everyone's days are numbered. If you knew you had only exactly two weeks to live, you'd live different then if you do now. Why? There is the same set timeframe on people's lives. I plan to make the most of that time, and not start a year from now but every second. People that sit around 'killing time' truly scare me. Do they not value their lives and the precious time they have left?

Anyways, that's the bottom line. No point in putting off for tomorrow something you can do today and enjoy every single last part of your life, even the lows are extremely high compared to much of the rest of the world. We all have tons to be thankful for, more people need to realise this and start making the most of their situation.

i am... different, i don't much care for death, as any event for me, it will come and go, but i am not ready to die, need to do some things that require me to 'kill time.'

you know, i never thought of it, but i have allot in common with a monk, i sit and contemplate and am detached, but the meaning of the name 'DarkAngel' comes as a symbol of weakness, Dark: as to be concealed, and Angel: celestial being that can fly. freedom might explain it more, to a point, so past my freedoms is the freedom to be useless, most common to my intent.

the weakness is no one noticed me flying. (if you get the metaphor)

but that sounds self absorbed, :D

infact the greatest thing i realized, is that as a person i am weak, it is that around people, we gain our strength. love is the strongest of our weakness, but can bring the highest thing in men out, our passion, which is often concealed.

But often great men, get greater in solitude.

in my recent answer to the question, "what is your holy grail?" not only does it mean to me that it is my love for something, but that the image of the holy grail was love, as in holding, red as in passion or blood wine, also that as the blood of Christ was the sacrifice of love for man, so the search for the grail was out of love for Christ in remembrance of the last supper, also of gold and other metallic’s is a high lustrous shine, and love is often held in the same regaurd, so my grail is love.
