What is a French Canadian? Are they normal Canadians who happen to speak French instead of English? Or, are they a whole new breed of human? The answer is simple. Quebec (is) what it wants (to be). What makes Quebec so special? Why should Quebec get special treatment? Why do they stand out from Ontario, Newfoundland, Alberta and P.E.I? I spit on that. Quebec is equal to the other provinces and territories. They piss and moan because the so called "fiscal inbalance" and say that Canada owes they $4 billion. What about Ontario!!? Are we not important? Or Alberta, Nova Scotia, Manitoba!?

I say SEPERATE. We don't need you. Canada is a country that needs to be UNITED not DIVIDED. We can't have a province that wants to be different and wants to leave. Let em' leave! They have never been loyal to Canada. "Quebec is my nation and Canada is my country" Fongulli Stronzatto! (Italian curse :P ) In World War I, most Quebec born soldiers refused to join Battalions with people from the other other province. They insisted for an all-quebec battalion. I am not condeming those brave soldiers who died for us, but I am proving that they always wanted to be known as Quebecers not Canadians.

Something has to be done. I say, let em' leave!

I really am soooo tired of the French vs English crap and how the French have a very seperate society. Hell we should make them go never mind letting them go. Divide up the national debt and make them leave with the same lands they came with and asap make the rest of Canada english speaking only. No more spending tax dollars supporting dual languages and anyone who does not want to be part of the new Canada, should have his lands bought out at market value and then sent to Quebec.

If Quebecers who do not want to seperate, can be brought into Canada for the first year. After that they would need to immigrate to come here.

Of course this is one of my more activist moments and of course not politically correct in any way shape ot form. But it is at least my gut reaction to the question.

Emmigration to another french speaking country would be better

Whether they want in now could be in question, but to say they never wanted in seems a bit spurious. During the American Revolution the Quebecois opted not to join the rebellion against the British Crown, as the Crown offered protection of their language and religion they felt they wouldn't get in the American republic. They also helped draft, and signed onto the original BNA Act, which is still the centrepiece of our Constitution today. So, if some self-interested people in Quebec want to rewrite history to fuel a drive to create a separate nation-state for themselves, then so be it. But the reality of it is their ancestors opted to be where they were; history did not suspend itself in Quebec between 1759 and 1963.

Gerard Kennedy said that Alberta and the West's culture of enterprise is completely different from the East. I figure that means we should leave too right Stranger... the West have less politically in common with Ontario than Quebec does... assuming we need to base everything around Ontario... which I think we do. That came from a Liberal who even recognizes it.

They speak a different language, whoop-de-do. They are practically the same nanny-state socialist supporting types that exist in Ontario, just with different names and accents.
