gc1765 Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 When I search for a keyword using the "search" function, the results I get is a list of threads, but no indication of where on that thread the keyword that I'm looking for is. Sometimes the thread is 10+ pages long and it takes time to skim through the thread looking for a specific keyword or post. Is there an easier way to do this? It would be nice if you could click on the actual post where the keyword is, rather than only being able to click on the thread. Quote Almost three thousand people died needlessly and tragically at the World Trade Center on September 11; ten thousand Africans die needlessly and tragically every single day-and have died every single day since September 11-of AIDS, TB, and malaria. We need to keep September 11 in perspective, especially because the ten thousand daily deaths are preventable. - Jeffrey Sachs (from his book "The End of Poverty")
Ricki Bobbi Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 What I usually do is ctrl+f (apple+f for mac users) on each page. A minor pain in the butt still easier than reading post by post. Quote Dion is a verbose, mild-mannered academic with a shaky grasp of English who seems unfit to chair a university department, much less lead a country. Randall Denley, Ottawa Citizen

Thanks. That's what I usually do as well, it's just a pain when there's up to 20 pages in a thread. afterfostercare Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 You could also select the OPTION to print it and then you get the entire forum topic in one long page to do your control-f search! Quote
Charles Anthony Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 You can do it by selecting to display results in POSTS as opposed to THREADS in the lower right corner of the search form. That way, it will display a list of individual posts which contain your search string. Result Type Show results as topics Show results as posts Quote We do not have time for a meeting of the flat earth society. << Où sont mes amis ? Ils sont ici, ils sont ici... >>
