JerrySeinfeld Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 OK for those of you who have chosen to compare Muslim fundamentalists with Christian fundamentalists on the violence front, I've decided to take you up on your comparison. Starting today we will each post new violent attacks by Christian fundamentalist civilians and by Muslim fundamentalist civilians upon other civilians. Quote
MightyAC Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 OK for those of you who have chosen to compare Muslim fundamentalists with Christian fundamentalists on the violence front, I've decided to take you up on your comparison.Starting today we will each post new violent attacks by Christian fundamentalist civilians and by Muslim fundamentalist civilians upon other civilians. Hmmm, good idea. I'll start a tally of reported rapes and molestations against Christian clergy versus Muslim clergy. I'll also keep a tally of Muslim civilians killed by Jewish governments versus Jewish civilians killed by Muslim governments. It may be hard to get the information..but if I can maybe I'll try to calculate the number of people swindled out of their money in the name of "God" versus "Allah". I like the 'starting today' bit.. It's a great way to gloss over a brutal past. Starting today I'll keep a tally of how many young girls are raped by Paul Bernado... I'm willing to bet the result will be 0 but does that make him a good man? Quote
Michael Hardner Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 I admire you for trying to go by numbers, JS. If only the backwards countries of the world cared about such things. Yes, you read me right - backwards countries. I do indeed think that there are certain places that are stuck in the dark ages, but I'm not going to blame individuals for that. jbg Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 OK for those of you who have chosen to compare Muslim fundamentalists with Christian fundamentalists on the violence front, I've decided to take you up on your comparison.Starting today we will each post new violent attacks by Christian fundamentalist civilians and by Muslim fundamentalist civilians upon other civilians. We should also itemize the attacks by Jewish fundamentalists and camp survivors in the wake of WW II. For people who know their history, the UN immediately, after the war ended, set up a welter of committees for the relief (and arming) of Jewish survivors. They promptly began challenging every government in Europe, and were rewarded for blowing up what was meticulously built by immigrants to these countries from Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan and Saudi Arabia. When these Jews were accused of violence, their response, naturally, was to kill people who made the accusations. The mass media has been silent about this activity, while the money given to fund the UN goes to make war, not peace. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).
MightyAC Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 All religions are guilty of atrocities. However people like JS would like to demonize all others while overlooking their own. What JS did in his opening comment here is like Enron calling World Com a bunch of cheats or McDonalds’s calling Burger King unhealthy. There are more and more so called religious people who feel the need to build up their own while simultaneously slamming others. Here's some advice...be happy with your choice of religion, or at least the one that was forced on your as a child, and keep your mouth shut about the choice of others...in the end you come out looking much more pious. Guys like JS end up looking insecure in their choice of religion or like they have an agenda to recruit more followers. Quote

Man, Christians might as well start up the bombing campaign for all of the good its done to follow Jesus's words to turn the other cheek. Quote
Jerry J. Fortin Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Virtually all religions lay claim to be peace loving and caring. There are of course perverted zealots who attempt to take out of context specific phrasologies to utilize to their twisted benefit. For the most part it is safe to say the religions flourish in times of hardship, because people need something to believe in that is more powerful than themselves. Now is one of those times for Muslims who view progress as something in opposition to their beliefs. The problem lies with the concept that traditional thinking is more beneficial to the individual than progressive thinking. Hence the thought that some countries are backward and some are not. Quote
