I voted Libertarian, the PC party has moved to far to the centre in recent years.

Right. They have moved to the centre. Right of Centre is where Conservatives federally and provincially need to be.

We don't need a far right party in Canada. Slightly right of centre is appealing to most Canadians. Mulroney was right of centre, and he had great success.

Gugsy, Mulroney was a success!!! Mulroney was an extremely bad prime minister, and he failed conservatives in this country. Mulroney seemed to support social liberalism, which brought about the 500,000,000,000+ debt. Mulroney also supported many feminist groups, and gun control groups, which resulted in the creation on the Reform party.

-It was good that mulroney was a failure, the Reform party was then able to effect public policy more thoroughly, and bring in debt reduction, tax relief, and spending controls.

Mulroney is going down in the history books as one of the worst. He took the PC's from credibility to laughing stock, getting only 2 seats! Kim Cambell was 'the fall guy' and was rewarded handsomely with an Ambassadorship to California.

Meech Lake was, unluckily for Brian, a very large 'failure legacy', although politically it was doomed from the start. It was more of the 'helicopter kickback' allegations and others that earned him the nickname 'lyin' Brian'.

Funny enough, Mulroney went to the States to be on the Board of Directors for a company that was fined $100,000,000 for price-fixing. Once a crook, always a crook.

Mulroney had nothing to do with winning 2 seats. Campbell had a near 15 point lead over the Liberals in 1993 before the election

She blew it.

That was a classic example of why you should never believe opinion polls.

The country wanted the PC's out very badly. The strong PC supporters stayed at home, and the fence sitters all came out and bounced her.

Mulroney knew his goose was cooked. He cut and ran at the perfect time.

I still wonder about the big media buildup for Campbell, where did that come from?
