Boisclair: "Referendum after our election!"

In case anyone in the rest of the country is noticing, Boisclair just gave a speech promising to hold a referendum as soon as possible - assuming the PQ takes power:

Si son parti prend le pouvoir, André Boisclair a promis un référendum «le plus tôt possible». Le chef du PQ rassure ainsi tous ceux qui se demandaient où se situait un projet référendaire dans ses priorités. Visiblement en mode électoral, M. Boisclair a déclaré vouloir atteindre cet objectif avec une «équipe de rêve».

Charest quickly replied that he is happy that Boisclair clarified this for voters:

Jean Charest se réjouit qu'André Boisclair ait affirmé vouloir tenir un référendum le plus tôt possible, lors d'un discours tenu samedi lors d'un rassemblement du Parti québécois, au Palais des congrès à Montréal.

« C'est bon sur le plan démocratique, car les citoyens qui iront voter sauront clairement les conséquences de leur choix. Ils sauront qu'un vote pour le Parti québécois, c'est un vote pour le référendum le plus vite possible », a déclaré dimanche le premier ministre.

Holding a referendum when the desire for separation is down will be incredibly stupid. It would be better to wait fifty years than to have the YES side achieve less votes than they did in the last referendum.

I hope not but I fear you are right.

"as soon as possible", "winning condition" and etc... In PQ coding IMO it mean they don't plan on making a referendum soon unless there is a major change.
