eyeball Posted Tuesday at 07:18 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 07:18 PM "Të gjithë jemi flamingo (We're all flamingos) It's not just Trump and despite the otherwise seemingly glowing regard afforded other leaders in comparison to Trump all are probably paying attention to the direction the Flamingo Revolution is going. Ordinary people should be paying even more attention. The "Flamingo Revolution" in Albania has rapidly escalated into the country's largest nationwide protest movement since the fall of communism in 1991. Driven by a decentralized, youth-led coalition, the movement has grown from local environmental pushback into a massive civic uprising demanding systemic political change. Most notably, the way the political system always serves the interests of the rich and powerful. Driven by the high-profile involvement of the Trump-Kushner family, decentralised digital activism, and a passionate diaspora, the movement has successfully transcended Albania's borders to become an international cause célèbre. For several months now I've been pointing out how Trump is causing problems for the right wing brand generally. Now I'm pretty confident that's morphing into problems for the other axis society is divided along - a far more relevant division between the governed and those who govern us. This is a very good and hopeful freshening breeze that might blow around the world. I'm honestly quite surprised at the speed with which this might be unfolding. China's rulers must be especially terrified. Iran's too have had a taste but I suspect Trump and Netanyahu set that back. I've also said it before and feel more confident saying it, that the real revolution will occur when conservative and progressive human beings finally come to appreciate that they are the great unwashed mass of humanity located to the left in the arrangement of power, wealth and influence which is concentrated to the right into the hands of a miniscule number of human beings. It doesn't matter what ism or flavour you're talking about, every single one of them is fundamentally arranged in the same manner. If push comes to shove how will governments and their right wings react? By sticking together would be my guess. 1 Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal
