1) When Harper was PM, between 61k and 64k people emigrated from Canada every year.

After 11 years of the LPoC, we're over 120,000 per year.

  • Overall Emigration: An unprecedented 120,640 Canadian citizens and permanent residents emigrated from Canada in 2025, leaving primarily for the United States, the UK, Australia, and various Asian countries. (In the official data tracked by Statistics Canada, the term "emigration" strictly excludes temporary residents whose visas expired. It refers almost entirely to people leaving on a voluntary basis.

I don't think there's a stronger measure of a country's level of overall happiness than the number of people who wanna gtfo.

2) Talk of separation went away under Harper, but after 11 years of LPoC misrule, now we have 2 provinces with strong separatist movements.

Never in my lifetime have I seen so much hatred for our government. You could have argued that it was just Trudeau in 2025, but hatred of Carney is almost as strong.

If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

Don't think it's hate so much as an aversion to the disdain the hollow man exudes.

Good, that means there's more of Canada for the rest of us.

My capacity for respecting governments in general waned nearly 50 years ago. I get it that governments are necessary but I have little use for politicians and political parties and little respect for partisans who think they're the bee's knees.

That said, 50 years of paying attention has taught me the electorate is at least half the problem now, maybe more, when it comes to how poorly we're governed. Too many of us gaslit, stupefied, jaded, cynical and yes hateful to be much use to a government. We give governments shit to work with and as such shit is what we should expect.
