The best information we have now is that the universe is not unlimited but is finite. We're still unsure of the exact conditions that are necessary to produce life but we are certain the most worlds that we can detect are uncapable of sustaining life. Therefore there is a finite number of worlds that can produce life and that number may be a lot smaller than we thought.

Additionally while they may support life there's no guarantee that they will support or eventually lead to intelligent life as we know it. Therefore it would not reasonably be possible to say that "logically" they are comparable to us in any respect, never mind 'ahead or behind'.

The idea that life could exist on other planets is a logical concept supported by both scientific reasoning and empirical evidence.

Scientists (science?) look for biosignatures — chemical, physical, or geological clues that suggest life exists beyond Earth. These can be detected through remote sensing, in-situ analysis, or geological context.

The universe may be infinite, but current observations cannot definitively confirm this or not? (what a revelation)

Fermi's idea is not a scientific theory – basically, if we can’t see ‘them’ then they don’t exist.

Nope. That's not what the science says, and if it did it woudn't be logic it would be statistics.  The problem is that we don't know what the conditions to create  life are yet, nor do we have any idea how many 'earth like' planets there are. So the best we can say is that based on what we know it's statistically probable that there are planets out there where life COULD form, and some of them MAY have life.
