Imagine a world where someone can say things that are incredibly ignorant, dumb, and wrong and we can rightly question their motives and what they were doing... and it was still lawful.

The fact that they were not indicted does not make what they did socially acceptable.

Too bad. They deserve it. It was a failed insurrection. I guess it failed so badly the court just went "meh."

Indeed, Trump's absurd case failed exactly that badly.

With the exception of the cities SCOTUS, most American courts remember this is America, where US Senators --and anyone else--cannot be punished by our government for simply stating the law.

They were not "simply stating the law"

They were in a grey area where they were clearly signaling to members of the military to refuse orders and try to turn the military into as much of a mess as they could.

They offered no context, nothing, just vague innuendo that Trump was breaking the law and it was their duty to not go along with it.
