Argus Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 If you teach your children that local women are whores who are unfit for them to the degree they must return "home" for a proper bride, and that the local men are worthless and godless so that they must again return "home" for a husband, then you are teaching your children contempt for Canada and Canadians, and have no business calling yourself a Canadian. I agree with gc. What are we going to Argus & Betsy? Send people to re-education camp? How would even know who to send? Argus, are we going to listen in on family conversation? Betsy, we now have Citizenship Courts where people swear an allegiance. Do you really think that if someone swears allegiance to the Maple Leaf that will prevent the person becoming a suicide bomber? Is it so easy to have some change their radical religious beliefs? These are all knee-jerk reactions and are not credible solutions at all. They would just create large headaches for good people and do nothing to deter bad people. I don't believe I ever suggested a solution exept to end Muslim immigration. However, I think that part of what we need to do is to make it very clear to potential immigrants what kind of people live in Canada, what the culture is, and what level of respect we require of them. They must be fully aware of what our value system is, and must accept it, if not embrace it. If they're not prepared to do that they should not come here. We have the opportunity to pick and choose among immigrants. We don't need to take immigrants who, on the whole, are going to cause social disruption. We have the opportunity to pick and choose among immigrants. We don't need to take immigrants who, on the whole, are going to cause social disruption. From a column by Licia Corbella of the Calgary Sun,she speaks with Dr. Mahfooz Kanwar a criminologist, and professor of sociology at Mount Royal College in Calgary. Terrorism arrests should prompt complete rethink of immigration policy "Multiculturalism has been bad for unity in Canada. It ghettoizes people, makes them believe, wrongly, that isolating themselves and not adapting to their new society is OK. It is not," says Kanwar, a devout Muslim. "In the average western nation, the acceptance rate of refugee claimants is 12 to 15%, in Canada it's close to 50%." But what of Canadian society on the whole, which is expected to tolerate the wives, mothers and daughters of these accused terrorists wearing complete face masks all the time in public since they wear burqas that reveal only their eyes? Kanwar said covering one's face in Canada should be illegal."I'm sick and tired of political correctness," said Kanwar from his Calgary home. "When I talk to other immigrants who complain about Canada I say, 'if you hate this country, why don't you go back to hell where you came from?' I tell them, 'nobody begged you to come here and no one will stop you if you want to go. So, go to hell and get the hell out of here.'" August1991 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Licia Corbella and Dr. Mahfooz Kanwar (never heard of either one of them before) are talking about changing Canada's multicultural and immigration policies as a solution to this problem meanwhile police in London England are arresting Muslim fanatics plotting more attacks. As they say, what's wrong with this picture? We have the opportunity to pick and choose among immigrants. We don't need to take immigrants who, on the whole, are going to cause social disruption.Argus, I think I can safely say that about 99.9% of Canadians would agree with you. We don't want immigrants who are going to cause "social disruption". Now then, how do you define social disruption?PS. Why do we have two threads on this topic? Quote
mikedavid00 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 No. My logic is Muslims who had CHOSEN to come VOLUNTARILY to LIVE IN CANADA, and HAD CHOSEN TO BECOME CANADIANS MUST PUBLICLY SHOW THEIR SUPPORT for this country that had welcomed and given them a haven and a home! Furthermore, it is the obligation and the duty of every citizens of a country to show and give their support to their country. ESPECIALLY in times of need! So we should basically all pledge allegiance to the flag of Canada, as they do in the U.S.? Or just muslims should have to do that? Or just immigrants? How about this solution: You can choose whether to pledge allegiance or not, but it won't matter because we AREN'T LETTING THEM INTO **OUR** COUNTRY SO IT"S A NON ISSUE TO BEGIN WITH! No other country in the world lets in more immigrants than Canada. No other country in the world has a weaker immigration policy than Canada. Do you think they issue point pased citizenship and lax family sponsorship ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD? Here's a challeng out there for anyone reading this: Find out what it takes to immigrate to... umm.. i donno.... India or Pakistan. You will find that if you are not born there, it is almost imposible to gain citizenship there.. especially scottland. Actually I will go as far to say that the ONLY countries ANYONE on eath has access to are the following: 1 - Canada (of course - the world hub of immigaration abuse). Just come here with no job prospects and sponsor in your family... wth no job prospect. If you do this for us, we'll give you free surgeries. 2 - Uk - Claim refugee status here and come as a student so you can meet someone in your own ethnicity and get married to become a citizen and free healthcare. Oh yea, we also have lots of ghetto's for your ethnicity. 3 - Australia - so many jobs that they can't fill a lot of positions. It was scary to read some of their IT postings: "Network admin. knowledge of Windows Server, computer hardware, and internet. A+ an asset". - (no joking. I really recommend andyone check out how easy it is to get a high paying job in Australia right now). 4 - US - Work permits for jobs Americans can't fill. Very, very diffucult to acheive but once you do, maybe you can get a peice of the pie. 5 - South Korea - English teachers wanted, but you will NEVER get citizenship. 6 - Dubia - Mulsims prefered, but if not, you can come and work here for 12 months and GET OUT while you are only allowed to re-apply after 4 months of being gone. These are the only countries in the world that are easy to get into. In countries like Samolia, the actually air TV commercials saying that if you land as a refugee, you get free money from the gov't and get paid to sit on welfare. I never met a Samoli person that actually was not living off welfare. I'm just simply AMAZED that people here actually defend these people taking advantage of our lax, weak, immigration policies that are a one of a kind thoughout the whole world. Again, go to India, Hong Kong, Pakistand and see how far *YOU* get trying to get a greencard! Quote ---- Charles Anthony banned me for 30 days on April 28 for 'obnoxious libel' when I suggested Jack Layton took part in illegal activities in a message parlor. Claiming a politician took part in illegal activity is not rightful cause for banning and is what is discussed here almost daily in one capacity or another. gerryhatrick Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 topic post removed. Just curious JMH, what does your post have to do with your title? Your title indicated that these 17 arrests are a "drop in the bucket", yet your rant against Muslims and immigration made no reference to that. Oh and by the way, the Air India bombers were Sikhs, not Muslims. Slight difference. Quote Conservative Party of Canada taking image advice from US Republican pollster: http://allpoliticsnow.com
