paxamericana Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 (edited) Withdraw US forward deployed Troops from Korea, Japan and Germany. Yup that’s all you need to do to guaranteed WWIII. Germany will reassert it self on the European continent and Asia would once again be at risk to the empire of the rising sun. Korea would be lost and there would be no deterrent to attacking the US mainland from the existing eastern hemisphere. This would not happen over night of course but over the course of 20-30 years the world would look again like 1929. The pro isolation crowd seem to forget that America is already protecting itself on the cheap with forward deployed power projection by controlling the destiny of two continents. John Stone Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 In the 'new' World order it is likely (??) the power will be with 3 players; China, U.S., Russia Let us put the U.N. / General Assembly / Security Council aside for a moment. Arguably China and Russia are forging closer ties. In terms of strategy and from a position of strength (economic/military) u really only want 2 chairs on the stage. Nixon had the right idea - but it became something on steroids yeah, ya gotta be a skilled/ experienced player in the World of geo-politics / hegemony 1 Quote

Someone is listening to Peter Zeihan. Nothing wrong with that of course. 2 hours ago, John Stone said: Arguably China and Russia are forging closer ties. Arguably, yes... ARGUABLY. Pilfering from Zeihan again - he pointed out that China changed the names of a bunch of cities on the Russian side to Chinese names on their maps.... hmmmm.... The WTO is the one organization he didn't withdraw from when he withdrew from so many recently. The thinking is that he still wants to have influence on tax exemptions for eCommerce trade. I do like him BUT you have to realize that even that level of insight is subject to bias and error. You should watch / listen to the people who criticize him. He does admit he's wrong, though, which is a sign of intellectual honesty. Edited January 21 by Michael Hardner Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
