Lots of people have compared Trump and his Putin worship to 'The Manchurian Candidate" by Richard Condon.

I think Condon's book 'A Trembling Upon Rome' better describes the Trump administration. It's about the son of a Pirate family who becomes Pope during the Western Schism around 1400.

And on page 259 of 'Winter Kills' by the same author is a perfect description of Trump's (actually project 2025's) scheme of a blitzkrieg of changes, deception and deflection, all done so rapidly that the opposition can't fully respond to all of them, and people feel too overwhelmed and helpless to try to and affect events.

These books were written wll before Trump was on the scene, but they read like this brilliant writer was contemperaneous.

No they haven't.

Yes, the people are so over whelmed by Trump's policies that the Democrats have approval ratings in the low 20's. Makes perfect sense. No body wants murder rates to plummet. No body wants Iran's nuclear program stopped. No body wants peace in the middle east. No body wants illegal immigration to stop. No body wants inflation to normalize. No body wants rent to come down. No body wants gas prices to come down. No body wants our military to be stronger. No body wants to see government fraud prosecuted. No body wants boys out of girls sports.

That blitzkrieg of policies is so hated and depressing. We are all just in shock.

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

Trump doesn't worship Putin

Trump did not write Project 2025, it was not his, he was not a part of its creation

So, was there any kind of point you were actually trying to make here?

This calls to mind a conversation we had in my family. The point being that Trump is not atypical - that he is very much the typical autocrat - and they litter history - the only atypical thing is that an autocrat assumed power in the USA

I mean, sure, he is the typical autocrat... minus the autocrat part.

Yes they have:

  • Real-World Application: Commentators applied the label to Trump, particularly after the 2016 election, due to his perceived closeness to Russia and actions seemingly favorable to Moscow, according to sources like The Washington Post and CNBC.

Lmao...WaPo and CNBC? Might as well be Whoopi and Joy. LWNJ reporters using "some people say" is not proof that people are calling Trump a Manchurian candidate. It is just LWNJs trying to create perception. Don't fall for it.

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

I just live in this little world called reality. I know all those rumors about Russia came from Obama and Clinton. If you still believe the Russia hoax, that is on you.

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

What people perceive isn’t reality or objective facts, especially when they are partisan hacks pushing a biased or outright dishonest viewpoint to oppose Trump.

Wonder if someone in Trump's circle (axis of evil) read Richard Condon?

Again from Winter Kills (1974) p.282

Of course now it's the rare minerals more than oil.
