And it saddens me to think of the effect it had on seniors (confined to group homes) that found themselves isolated and alone at a time in their lives when they craved the support of family and friend

And often died alone, never getting to see their family one last time.  Not to mention the effect that has on the families,  knowing their loved ones died like that.  At least there was SOME sort
