Politics1990 Posted November 28, 2025 Report Posted November 28, 2025 disgusting seeing carney working with smith on this. just 100% sealed my vote for ndp the next election lol. may as well have PP in power at this rate if the libs just gonna approve pipelines anyway Quote
CdnFox Posted November 29, 2025 Report Posted November 29, 2025 Well here we go: 'This is a battle we don't intend to lose' — Blanchet throws his hat in with Eby against pipeline Quebec is jumping into The Fray. They will be attempting to turn this into proof that carney will happily step over the rights of provinces including Quebec if it suits him and quebecers and First Nations in Quebec may not get a voice. I think carney was trying to be a little bit clever here but it may come and bite him in the butjust a little bit before the dust settles bC nDP Flocked to the liberals last election And carney picked up a number of seats there, and also he did very well in Quebec. If this costs him support in those two provinces it will make it very difficult for him in another election. Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."

He's already poisoned the well so badly that BC government and first nations will never agree to this and he made that a condition of any future deal. And look at the Timeline, this is an agreement to continue talking and to come to an agreement and the first date is end of April 2026. Before they can even go looking for a proponent in the private sector they need to work out those terms, and it would be the easiest thing in the universe to wind up saying well we have to bump that back a couple of months. Experts are saying that if all goes really well and smoothly based on the timelines out lined it's possible shovels could be in the ground by 2030. So all he has to do is stall a bit and it'll be the end of his second term before anything serious happens and then he could just cancel the whole damn thing and walk away and it's too late for her to do anything He's making her happy right now because he's vulnerable. And he's basically bought himself well over a year with this. That will give him time to shore up his support and prepare for an election where maybe he can get a majority. And if that happens as far as he's concerned she can go drill herself I've never particularly thought of her as a fool but she got fooled this time and it's not playing well at home for her. She got booed just the other day over the deal Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."
