eyeball Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 Pierre Poilievre vows to scrap industrial carbon tax “There will be no taxes on consumers, no taxes on Canadian industries. Instead, provinces will continue to have the freedom to address this issue how they like, but there will be no federal obligation to impose the tax,” Poilievre said at a lectern adorned with a large “axe the tax” sign. I guess just axing one tax didn't cut it. And effectively speaking Poilievre, like Trump, is backing the federal government even farther away from it's obligations to do it's part to protect the environment. Will this be a red line for Carney or will he follow suit? This still has the potential to become, as it should, an AGW is bullshit campaign if he doesn't. If he does scrap the industrial tax however it will surely bolster the Liberals are bullshit campaign. Hopefully this will turn into an opportunity for other parties who support AGW action to grab enough votes to force a minority government to keep the federal government's feet to the fire. 1 Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
Barquentine Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 Axe all the tax. Just more of PeePee's sloganistic shortsighted thinking. "For businesses importing into the EU, CBAM introduces new reporting requirements and financial obligations. Importers will need to report on the embedded emissions in their goods and, in the future, purchase CBAM certificates to cover these emissions." Quote
herbie Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 The guy's absolutely stuck in his own mud. This morning I got 3 anti-Singh ads watching YouTube for half an hour. So f*cking dumb he thinks attacking Singh will drive Dippers to vote Tory. No f*cking wonder Carney's blown his doors off in the polls. Quote
ExFlyer Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 (edited) Ask any of the PP proponents, the ones that would help with the beatification of PP, how much legislation has he proposed, sponsored or gotten passed for Canada in his past 20+ years in politics as a member or a cabinet minister. The answer will be none..... after 20+ years he has not done anything for Canada.
