gatomontes99 Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 (edited) John Rich posted a story about the Dugger Band being accepted to perform on a local TV station only to be denied later. The station said the song was too political. Here is the song: Can a liberal explain how this song is political? I mean, it wasn't until the station called it political. But why is it libbies think this is political? Edited March 11, 2025 by gatomontes99 Quote Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

WestCanMan Posted March 12, 2025 Report Posted March 12, 2025 There are a few themes and sentiments in there that would be wildly unpopular with the left: "fight fight fight", which points at Trump getting up after he was shot, Yeah my pappy served in that Second World War I ain't ever giving up all that he fought for" is a bit feisty, and shows an unwillingness to accept the inevitable bend in the overall culture that comes with increased immigration "The best part about the land of the free Is if you don't like it you're free to leave"... I get why some radio stations wouldn't play that. I'm not all bent out of shape if stations turn their noses up at that, but I don't think that it should be banned at any level of gov't. CouchPotato Posted March 12, 2025 Report Posted March 12, 2025 (edited) I don't think it's too political. But it definitely has political references. Nothing that I would censor. It's a country song, and there have been tons of country songs written with similar themes. My guess is the bridge too far was the "fight, fight, fight". Edited March 12, 2025 by CouchPotato Quote
