It was yesterday.

I learned from Google that Anura won Best Picture. Anura? Haven't seen.

I went to Youtube to see the trailer. (Within 30 seconds, I realised that it was fake... Russians/prostitutes.)

====

The Brutalist? Haven't seen. Adrien Brody?

Curious? I read a few forums to understand the movie.

A Jew arrives in America after the war. America is awful. Brody has a big ego.

=====

I was curious to see The Pianist. It was a good movie.

Sophie's Choice?

America? Hollywood?

I know ordinary Russians. Even ordinary Chinese.

We all have a Mom and Dad, brothers and sisters - or at least an uncle/aunt.

I will pay for cartoon (and I think people around the world will pay also) if it tells me a good story.

Art should never be used to send a message?

I think there is a point where it starts to feel like it's more message and less art. The art becomes secondary, and the viewers know it.

I would say the same thing happens with the films that right wingers try to make to counter this.

Sometimes these things just feel so contrived. Even if you happen to agree with the message, the art sometimes really sucks.

I don’t remember saying that there aren’t bad films.  But to pretend that there shouldn’t be social or political messages within art or film is rather silly.

Never said you did, but I think that is what August1991 is referring to. I think a lot of people feel this way now.

Art for Arts sake.

Have you ever seen words around the the lion?
