Actually, what she did was place our schools in a position that they couldn't make healthy meals. My friend is the administrator in charge of school meals that my kids attend. He told me that under her plan, he couldn't make a grilled chicken salad because it wasn't considered healthy. Now, how she was able to get HHS to sign off on that is beyond me. But it became illegal for him to serve grilled chicken salads in school. Pizza was fine, though.

Sounds like your buddy is full of shit. Get him to explain, in detail, how the nutrition standards for schools set down by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 prevented him from serving grilled chicken salads.

Simple, the balance of vegetables to protein was off. They actually wouldn't let him serve it because the volume of vegetables was proportionally too high.
