Army Guy Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Why was it necessary to invent DEI hiring practices in the first place ? or does in confirm that we are a systemically racist state to which racism has reached it's peak and now needs a radical reset. Or is this just another liberal attempt to divide us into smaller groups. How is this practice better than hiring the best qualified for the job ? The below article is about our universities but DEI practices don't stop there , most federal government jobs are also steeped in DEI practices, recently checked out NB provincial government jobs also most listing had DEI requirements...I looked at the example they provided for in NB, it says if your not in this certain category then don't bother to send in a resume, That in itself is racism, but somehow being inclusive means we really don't need to include all people regardless of color, creed, we can discriminate those colors that have some sort of privilege...Because it is 2015 baby... maybe one day, when we all grow up we can get back to a merit based system , and truly be inclusive... Ivison: DEI screening comes before merit questions in Canadian university hiring Quote We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.
ExFlyer Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 (edited) DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion ) is just the new acronym for what has been going on for decades. Equal employment, affirmative action, equal opportunity and on and on and on. Nothing new, just a new acronym LOL We have had racial or gender sexual orientation, religion, country of origin, and other identity and hiring quotas for as long as I can remember. You remember when women were brought into the military trades? Requirements all had to be lowered?? LOL Edited February 7 by ExFlyer 1 Quote Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. herbie Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Nepotism In the old days when people hired their friends and relatives, they were white, as white people owned most businesses. Nowadays the HR manager might be someone of colour and they do what they were trained to do hire the people they know. Who aren't. So how come living in an area that's about 1/3 native we see maybe 1 employee in 20 that is native? Or the WalMart that's 90% east indians, and no native employees at all? How many of you whiners ever applied for a job and truthfully wondered in your head if they hired white people. F*ck off with you DEI snivelling, pretending anyone must hire unqualified people to fill quotas. Nepotism remains a far bigger problem. It ain't what you know, it's who you know. As it's always been. What a laughably naive and incorrect view of reality. People did not think, "ooh, this candidate is white, let me hire him". No. They looked over a candidate, see what credentials he got, what skills he had, whether he was smart..etc. And it turned out that white males tended to be the ones with these things. That's why they got hired. It was not because they had a Caucasian face. Why are there so many retards running around in our society believing stupid crap like that. 1 Quote
herbie Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 Speaking of retards, which world did you grow up in in the 1060s 1970s 1980s where many businesses were owned by minorities? Quote

It doesn't matter. White men did not get hired for having a white face. If you think that, you are dumb. Edited February 8 by GroundskeeperWillie 1 Quote
herbie Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 What white person got fired because of DEI? Name him. It's about hiring not firing. Quote

Are you hallucinating again. 1 minute ago, herbie said: It's about hiring not firing. Yes. And you essentially said white men got hired by being white. This is dumb. 1 Quote
NAME REMOVED Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 Plot twist: AG is a DEI hire. Army Guy suffers from PTSD, so technically if a company were to hire him, he would be a DEI hire. Quote
