I don't get this. There is politics and then there is just plain stupid.

U.S. transfers 11 Yemeni prisoners from Guantánamo to Oman

This could be ok, except I took the names in the article and looked them up. Some of them we can live with. Some will literally kill us. One was assessed to likely kill the President and/or Americans. (I guess we know why Joe waited until 2 weeks before inauguration on that one). Another was a chemical and nuclear weapons expert.

Here are the 11 prisoners with snip-its of their files:

Khaled Qasim

Traveled to Afghanistan for jihad, took military or terrorist training in Afghanistan ,fought for the Taliban, was at Tora Bora

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khaled_Qasim

Uthman, Uthman Abdul Rahim Mohammad

trained at Tarnak Farms.

Moath al-Alwi

Served on Osama Bin Laden's security detail. In January 2010, the Guantanamo Review Task Force recommended he should be classed as a "forever prisoner", one who has not committed a crime but is too dangerous to release.

Took military or terrorist training in Afghanistan, fought for the Taliban, was at Tora Bora, traveled to Afghanistan for jihad

Zuhail Abdo Anam Said al-Sharabi

If released without rehabilitation, close supervision and means to successful reintegrate into his society as a law abiding citizen and it is assessed, detainee would immediately seek out prior associations and reengage in hostilities and extremist support activities at home and abroad.

Said Salih Said Nashir

detainee was captured following a two and a half hour firefight in a Karachi Pakistan apartment, along with several other members of al Qaidavworked for al Qaida as a guard at the Kandahar airport. attended basic training at al Farouq training camp

Omar Mohammed Ali al-Rammah (alternative name: Zakaria Al-Baidany)

Detainee is a member of al-Q aida and is assessed to have  held a key role in al-Qaida linked plans to conduct explosives operations in Georgia and Chechnya. Detainee was captured by Georgian authorities possessing explosive detonators and a large sum of US currency. Detainee received tactical explosives training while in Afghanistan (AF) and probably trained othersat the al-Faruq Training Camp during 2001. Detainee is connected to numerous extremistsand known al-Qaida members.

Talfiq Nassar al- Bihani

Detainee is assessed to be a member of al - Qaida who participated in hostilities against US and Coalition forces . Detainee has strong familial ties to key al - Qaida members including an identified trainer and poisons expert; at least two of his brothers swore bayat ( an oath of allegiance ) to Usama Bin Laden ( UBL ) who detainee openly supports . Detainee is also associated with senior al - Qaida members including spiritual advisor . Detainee has repeatedly demonstrated he will pose a threat if released and has threatened to kill the President of the United States and US citizens

Sanad Yislam al-Kazimi

Detainee is also reportedly familiar with the al-Qaida chemical and nuclear research

program.

Hassan Mohammed Ali Bin Attash

Detainee is a member of al-Qaida. He traveled to Afghanistan (AF) under the influence of his older brothers, one of whom, Walid Muhammad Salih Bin Attash, aka (Khallad), aka (Silver), ISN US9YM-010014DP (YM-10014), was a senior al-Qaida member. Detainee reportedly swore bayat(oath of loyalty) to UBL and was a member of UBL’s security detail.

Sharqawi Abdu Ali Al Hajj

Detainee has ties to numerous high-level al-Qaida members and operational personnel, including individuals involved in the 11 September 2001 attacks. Detainee was responsible for moving money and fighters into Afghanistan prior to the fall of the Taliban. After the Taliban fell, detainee provided assistance to hundreds of foreign fighters seeking to flee from Afghanistan to Pakistan or to their home countries. Detainee traveled to Bosnia for jihad in the mid-1990s and spent one year fighting before returning to Yemen. Detainee is associated with a planner of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks and with 11 of the hijackers.

Abd al- Salam al- Hilah

YM - 1463 has been in direct contact with two extremists outside of Guantanamo during his detention , one of whom is his brother , who we cannot confirm still supports extremist activity , and another who is a former Guantanamo detainee suspected of reengaging in terrorism . He probably would have multiple avenues to reengage in terrorism if he chose to do so because of these contacts , his expansive ex tremist connections from before his detention, and because his family resides in an area of Sanaa known for extremist activity .

Joe released a nuclear weapons specialist and you are worried about how I group news stories?

Wow. It's amazing at how you guys can't criticize someone that's "on your side". This is one of those things that should be universally criticized. The people that were released will kill again. Not might. Not probably. They will kill Americans.

Joe's handlers do something incredibly stupid. But don't look at that! Attack Gato for daring to question the Supreme leader's handlers!

Obviously they're not going to admit that they were in the wrong. They'd be evicted from the tribe if they did that :)
