purely from a legal perspective.. they got it right. As for him being some hero, I would not give him that honor. You can do so if you want to but not myself.

OK, not a hero for you... you think it is lawful what he did... but do you think it should be lawful? Do you think his actions, while not heroic, were good?

he did the right thing and his actions were legal. Do i think that he could have avoided the death of Neely? yes. However, that was not the case and Neely passed away.

Pretty much this.

I applaud him for taking the initiative to incapacitate a violent person, but I thought he could have should have released the hold as soon as Neely went limp. Regardless, the jury found him not guilty, and I respect their decision.
