CdnFox Posted June 5, 2024 Report Posted June 5, 2024 John Ivison: Freeland budget said deficits were under control. Not so | National Post (archive.ph) Chrystia Freeland put out the bunting after her April 16th budget. The fiscal plan had three targets or “guideposts”: keeping the deficit below $40 billion in 2023/24; lowering the debt-to-GDP ratio in the current fiscal year, compared to last fall’s financial statement; and keeping deficits below one per cent of GDP in 2026/27. “In this budget, every single one of these objectives is met,” she said. But hold on a wee minute. Barely six weeks after the budget was tabled in Parliament, the Department of Finance has released its Fiscal Monitor document for the 2023/24 year and it says the deficit was actually $50.9 billion. That number, if confirmed, will make it much harder to reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio this year below the 42.4 per cent recorded in the last fall statement, and to bring deficits below one per cent in two years. So, Canadians may have been wittingly, unwittingly, or in the language used in the latest foreign interference report “semi-wittingly,” misled by their government. CdnFox Posted June 5, 2024 Author Report Posted June 5, 2024 Federal government is out and out lying about the fiscal health of Canada and it's pretty bad. They have been caught repressing a report that shows that Canadians get back less than they pay in carbon tax, they have lied about the budget figures to falsely suggest that our economic picture will get better when in fact it's getting worse. As bad as we think our financial situation is, it's actually likely even worse than that because this gov't is not afraid to lie and cover up every single thing it can. If he makes things so bad that it takes 10 years to even begin to put it right then people will blame the conservatives in the end for getting that it was Justin who caused all of the problems and then the liberals will be able to return to power. If I were Poilievre, I would be coming up with a strategy to address that because it's clear that Justin intends to fiddle for the next year and a half till the election 1 1 Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

Every single instrument is out of tune. The brass section have no mouthpieces, string section no strings, percussion are using spoons for drumsticks. The only instrument in tune is the grand piano but the pianist can't find the music and the conductor is a clown. Quote
