Rovik Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 There are threads about "I am going to vote Conservative" and "I am going to vote Liberal," so it's only fair that someone had one for the NDP as well I think that the Libs are going to take a hit tomorrow and it's a great opportunity for the NDP to step up and be the true foil to the CPCs. Who knows, perhaps even lay down a foundation towards winning the govt. one day. The Libs arrogance, self-entitlement, broken promises and fear-mongering have finally caught up with them and I say it's about time. I also believe that there are many centre-left minded people who remember the Libs swing right when they had majorities and believe that at heart, Martin's Libs are closer to the right than they are to the left. These people will see through the Liberal's lies of been the only "progressive" party out there. Quote
BigGunner Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 ME too... Yes, I am tired and royally pissed off at the Liberals 12 year span of corruption and arrogance. Yes, I think its time for change. No, I do not want the Stephen Harper version of change. I am still in favour of protecting healthcare. I am still in favour of allowing gay and lesbian couples to get married. I am still in favour of tackling pollution and climate control via the Kyoto protocol. I am still in favour of real democratic reform. These are ideals that the liberal party has pledged in the past - and been a terrible failure on. But I agree with the principles. So I shall vote for the NDP. Quote
geoffrey Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Best of luck to you NDP folk. For every seat you take from the Liberals, you make me more happy. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
BigGunner Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Don't kid yourself, we'll take them from the conservatives too... Cheers everyone...great campaign!! Best of luck to you NDP folk. For every seat you take from the Liberals, you make me more happy. Quote
Hollus Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Me too! Again. All the arguements about which party leader has the best personality characteristics for PM are redundant. That being said, I think both Harper and Martin pale in comparisan to Jack Layton. NDP Bitches!!! Woooo! Quote
geoffrey Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Well when you vote for the video professor how can you fail? He gives you a money-back gaurntee. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --

Montgomery Burns Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 If I was a leftwinger, I would vote for the NDP too. The Liberal Party is dishonest, corrupt, arrogant, and in major debt. Like Layton has been saying, they need to go away for a while and get their act together. These people will see through the Liberal's lies of been the only "progressive" party out there. You are voting for what you believe based on ideas, ideals and hope. While I choose to disagree, I respect that choice. Casting a vote based on fear and loathing as we've seen from Paul Martin in the last three days is sad and cynical. Good Luck Wellandboy Quote
scribblet Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Dang it! Maybe I'll vote NDP too, bigger and better pensions and lower taxes for seniors.... shoot what more could I want Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province

Like Layton has been saying, they need to go away for a while and get their act together. Agreed. The NDP has a leader who is respectable (Layton) and I believe is running on a platform that is loyal to their left-wing voting base. Leafless Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Since my Conservative candidate John Baird supports SSM, I will be voting for my idependent candidate who does not support this concept. I will not vote for any party that publicly promotes the bastardization of the institute of marriage. Quote

I will not vote for any party that publicly promotes the bastardization of the institute of marriage. I believe that marriage is a religious institution. As such, I do not believe the state should have a greater role other than to provide civil unions. As PM, I would allow individual churches to decide how to define marriage. I would support gay and lesbian civil unions and I would allow each province's legislatures to define marriage as they saw fit. BubberMiley Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 You'll never get the majority of people in this country who don't go to church to agree to give up the term "marriage." Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
