CdnFox Posted February 2, 2024 Report Posted February 2, 2024 https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/many-immigrants-leaving-canada-within-years-of-arriving-statcan-1.6753003 More than 15 per cent of immigrants decide to leave Canada either to return to their homeland or immigrate to another country within 20 years of their arrival, according to a new study. Additionally, more than 40 per cent of immigrants admitted in the investor category and 30 per cent of those admitted in the entrepreneur category emigrated within 20 years of admission. "These categories include wealthy immigrants who tend to be highly mobile and who may—even when they are admitted—intend to leave Canada in the future," StatCan explained. So - some other fun facts. The rate is increasing. As noted it's the wealthy and the skilled and business owners who leave. So basically at this point Canada has become a filter for immigrants. The most desirable and biggest contributers leave after a few years and those who don't have the money or skills to escape remain. And this process is accelerating btw. Turns out Trudeau was wrong - when you tax the rich they DO care. And they leave. And we wonder why business investment in Canada is down. You get a preferential treatment immigration-wise if you cheat your whole way out of it. You get a faster PR by literally falsely claiming asylum after being illegally here than if you were doing it the legal way. It's super frustrating to see some well established immigrants having to wait for delays that are increasing all the time all because cheating is allowed and even encouraged at the federal level. Unfortunately true. I have seen people with Phd's and tons of skills come in with an application that took a very long time. Asylum seeker, student visa, refugee? Effortless entry. Especially the student visa. Soooooo many loopholes. Get married, you literally leapfrogged hundreds of thousands of PR applications in a fraction of the time. Some could say for two of those above cases that its justified as one is escaping conditions at home. You think women from the Philippines come to Canada because they can't wait to work at Tim Horton's? They're escaping the dire financial situation back home. Why else would you leave your children behind to take a massive leap of faith and selling off all your assets to afford it? Its a huge let down to do so, come here, and find out the discriminatory workplaces in that you are making minimum wage or near it, trained all your life to be stuck under so much red tape you have to accept your new calling as a cleaner even though you are over-qualified for the position. I would leave, too. Quote
