In reality, the housing shortage affects everything. That is, according to a trio of analysts writing in the journal Works in Progress, housing shortages also impact many of the most pressing problems in the Western world, among them declining fertility, endemic chronic illness, brutal inequality, climate catastrophe, sluggish productivity, and slow growth It's an interesting read. When you look at it and think about it there can be little doubt that there is some truth to it. The long-term answer is find ways to build more homes. But in the short run they have to control the number of immigrants to keep this problem from becoming worse and possibly permanent.
