Reagan inherited a depression, along with an impending world war with the Soviet Union. In less than four years, Reagan gave  America the greatest economy of all time, only surpassed by what LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT TRUMP gave us.

No, consumption taxes inevitably hurt the poorest the most.  Most people smoke roughly a pack a day - you're not going to smoke 10 packs a day just because you're wealthy.   So - the tax on a pack represents a HELL of a lot more of the disposable income for a poor person than it does a wealthy person. 

Consumption taxes are good - but they do tend to hit the poor the hardest.

 

As to tips - it's income. Tax it.  We already give tax breaks to the poor and lower income earners.

If consumption taxes hit the poor, why did Bill KKKlinton raise cigarette taxes? I guess he wanted to ass fugg the poor.

What poor, underachieving mor0n could even qualify for a LOAN for ANYTHING costing $90,000.

The underachieving poor buy cheap liquor while the ACHIEVERS drive $150,000 Mercedes S Class sedans.  An underachieving idi0t might pay 50 cents for that liquor while an ACHIEVER would pay FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for the Mercedes.
