Gov. Newsom announces $32 billion budget deficit, $10 billion more than previously estimated

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Friday that the Golden State’s budget deficit is $10 billion higher than he predicted earlier this year.

Newsom said during a press conference that California’s budget deficit has grown to nearly $32 billion, which is about $10 billion more than he anticipated in January when he offered his first budget proposal.

"We have a $31.5 billion challenge, which is well within the margin of expectation and well within our capacity to address," Newsom said.

California, which has the largest budget in the nation at $306 billion, is one of the few states to have a shortfall this year. Some say it is due in part to a progressive tax code that relies on wealthy taxpayers whose income is closely tied to the performance of the stock market.

1. Gee! Who could have guessed paying out in excess of $100K to EACH black family in the form of reparations could have cost so much?

 

2. This HUGE budget is financed mostly by BORROWING, and the highest taxes in the country, just to carry out THIS scenario.

5. Meanwhile, Florida has the best economy, the BEST schools and a BUDGET SURPLUS.

For you meatheads who STILL want to praise blue states, DON'T EVEN THINK OF MOVING TO FLORIDA. Stay in your schithole blue state and wallow in what you !diiots created.

Funny how the resident Californian, also a left winger, won’t even attempt to defend this disaster of a governor.  Just like the left, ignore it until the story goes away.

Really, that’s why they are going to ultimately lose.  This unrealistic tactic gives them blind spot after blind spot.

So many companies have fled to other states in the last few years. Their revenues must be down already.

I'm just afraid those MOe ronz will come all the way to Florida and try to screw up OUR economy.

Have no fear.  More states will become insolvent.  Most people will turn to the federal government to save them.  They are beginning to realize that sleepy Joe is taking better care of Ukraine( has he sent 100 billion yet) than he is of America.
