Not on what only the CRA insists are not gifts.

Or next it will be on lottery wins, pay double tax on BOGO sales and bullshit like how some Provinces insist retailers remit the tax value on the regular $1.49 price, not the 99c sale price, how they decide what tax you pay on a car sale (don't care you paid $1000, the bluebooks $2000) or here in BC 12% on a private sale because it wasn't fair for their car dealer backers.

They earned a “tip” by performing a service.  It’s clearly income, not a birthday present.
